Charlotte returned the phone to the waitress and said coldly, “You know what you should and shouldn’t say, right?” 

“Yes, yes, I know!” The waitress nodded repeatedly, her eyes filled with fear when looking at Charlotte. 

This woman had something terrifying in her possession! 

Just a touch of it had caused her unbearable pain! She never wanted to experience that feeling again! 

Charlotte needed to find Ava and get her out of there! 

She couldn’t let Ava be in any danger! 

But before she could take more than a few steps, she saw Sebastian walk up to Ava and whisper something in her ear. Ava’s fa 

immediately showed urgency as she got up 

headed toward the rest area on the second floor.

disbelief. 

What had Sebastian said to Ava? 

Why was Ava going to the rest area? 

A chill crept up from her feet, spreading throughout her body.

Charlotte felt her limbs go numb as if they wouldn’t respond.

She pressed her lips together tightly and walked straight toward where Ava had gone. 

But her wrist was suddenly caught in a firm grip. She spun around to find herself face to face with Arthur’s striking, sharp features. 

“What are you doing? Let me go!” 

She started struggling the moment she saw it was him. 

When had he appeared behind her? 

She hadn’t even noticed his presence! 

And why was he stopping her? 

Arthur’s eyes fixed on her as he said in a deep voice, “You suspect Sebastian too, don’t you? Let’s watch and see what he’s up to.” 

“No way!” 

Charlotte shook her head. “I can’t let my grandmother walk into danger!” 

With worry on her face, she bit down on Arthur’s hand. Though he winced in pain, he didn’t let go. His muscles tensed slightly as he frowned and said, “I never said I wouldn’t let you go!”

Charlotte froze at his words. “But you’re holding me back.” 

Arthur’s expression turned helpless. “There’s another way up to the second floor that won’t draw attention.” 

“Seriously? Now you tell me!” 

Charlotte couldn’t even look at his hand, still tasting blood from where she’d bitten her tongue in frustration. 

He grabbed her hand and turned to leave. 

“Let go of me!” Charlotte said stiffly, wanting to avoid any unnecessary contact with him. 

Arthur’s grip tightened slightly, his thumb brushing across the back of her hand before he finally released it. 

The gesture seemed almost reluctant. 

Charlotte’s delicate face remained cold and composed as she followed Arthur up to the second floor through the alternative 

route. 

They had a clear view of the break room door, with a large pillor concealing them from anyone below. 

Just as Ava reached the break room door and reached for the handle, it swung open. 

A masked server stepped out first, followed by Sarah in her toast–giving dress. She grabbed Ava’s arm and yanked her

toward the edge of the stairs, trying to push her! 

Charlotte, hiding in the shadows, saw this unfold, Her eyes widened as her mind went blank, and she rushed forward. 

“Grandma!”
