Charlotte thought she wouldn’t have to wait long, but three days had passed with no word from Sarah. She couldn’t help but wonder what exactly was Sarah hesitating about. 

Charlotte sent Jennifer a batch of custom–made fragrances, who quickly settled the payment. Without delay, Charlotte reinvested 

the funds. 

Meanwhile, Jennifer wasted no time calling Arthur back home. after receiving the fragrances. 

The living room, adorned with classical decor, exuded elegance and grandeur. Jennifer sat gracefully on the sofa, arranging a bundle of fresh flowers. 

Arthur strode into the room. He sat in a single armchair and asked curtly, “What’s the matter?” 

Jennifer reached for a small box and handed it to Arthur. “You’ve been struggling with insomnia lately, haven’t you? I met with Ms. Aroma and had her create a custom fragrance to help you sleep. Take it and give it a try.” 

Arthur looked at the ornate little box. He took it, opened the lid, and found a bottle resembling perfume inside. It was identical to the one already in his home. He sneered. 

Jennifer frowned. “What’s with that attitude?” 

Arthur twirled the bottle, his tone nonchalant. “Thank you,

Jennifer studied Arthur for a moment before asking, “What’s going on with Charlotte? Has she really lost her memory?” 

“What are you trying to say?” Arthur looked at Jennifer, who had a flicker of disdain crossed her face..

She said, “Charlotte is cunning. She succeeded with one scheme five years ago, and now she’ll do anything to get what she wants. That’s why I don’t let her be around Julius. He’s the future heir to the Harrison Group and can’t be influenced by someone like her.” 

After a brief pause, Jennifer added, “You’d better keep your guard up. If she’s using this memory loss as an excuse to plot something, you need to cut your losses quickly.” 

Arthur’s strikingly handsome face grew colder, his expression unreadable. “Are you suggesting we get a divorce?” 

Jennifer countered with a question. “Sarah’s back. What are you planning to do about that? She must have come back for you. You two had such a great relationship back then. After you marry Charlotte, do you feel at peace with it?” 

Arthur chuckled at Jennifer’s words. “Mom, didn’t you dislike 

Sarah back then too?” 

Jennifer pressed her lips, thinking, “I never liked Sarah. She came from an ordinary family and was a nobody five years ago. I strongly opposed Arthur dating her. 

But now, things have changed. Sarah is a famous ballet dancer performing worldwide. I have to rethink my view. Looking at Charlotte and Sarah now, Sarah is the better choice.”

“What’s in the past is in the past. Things are different now,” Jennifer said, her tone softer. “If you want to marry Sarah, I won’t stand in your way. I’ll even talk to your father about it.”

back.
