Chapter 105: Worried

Jasmine's POV

I kept on waiting outside the operating room and it's been one hour and thirty minutes. I don't even feel the coldness here.

“ Mom!” I turned around and saw my son running towards me while crying. I stood up and hugged him. I tried not to cry, but I couldn't.

Cherry is watching us while she's also crying.

“ Mommy! Where's Daddy Uncle?” He asked me while sobbing. I fixed his hair and wiped my tears.

“ He's still in the operating room, baby; stop crying now, okay? What did I tell you? Daddy uncle is a strong man. He's not going to leave us. He will fight okay?” I tried to convince him while wiping his tears. I hugged him again while my tears kept on falling. I looked at Cherry and she is now sobbing.

If it wasn't for Diego, Cherry wouldn't be here. He's also helping Cherry's family, especially her mom, in the hospital.

That's why I understand that she’s also sad about what happened to Diego.

“ I want to see him, Mom, please,” David told me. I shook my head and forced myself to smile at him.

“ We can't baby, let's just wait for the doctor okay?” I told him and he nodded. I carried him to make him sit on the hospital chair.

I hugged him while I was silently crying.

“ No matter what happens I will always be here with you and your son. I promise you that.”

I bit my lower lips. He really did what he promised me. He never left me. When I needed help, he was always here with me. He became my partner for a year. Even though he was not used to taking care of a kid, he still tried and did.

Until my son grew up. He stood up as a father to my son. He loved him without asking for anything in return. He helped me without complaining.

He's a great man. He always prioritizes us above all else. He loved my son so much.

“ Don't worry, I will love him like my own son. I will show him that he had a father. I will show him that he is the important and luckiest kid ever”

I couldn't stop crying while I remembered how kind and pure his heart.

“ You don't have to do this, Diego. You've helped me a lot,” I told him while he massaged my back because it hurt a lot.

“ Shh, your baby won't like it when you keep on saying that, " he chuckled, which made me pout.

“ This is not your job. “ He helped me sit because I couldn't move, and I felt dizzy, too.

“ What did I tell you? I will always be here to help you and protect you. And no matter what you say, I won't leave you, okay? Just relax and don't stress yourself. Do you want to eat something?” He said, which made me smile.

“ I want a red apple “ I told him and pouted. He chuckled and stood up.

I wiped my tears and fixed myself. I need to be strong, especially right now. I couldn't be weak. My son needs me.

“ Daddy, Uncle will be alright, Mom. He's strong, you told me. He will be okay,” he told me, which made me smile. He wiped his tears and smiled at me.

“ Daddy Uncle told me to always be strong. He told me that when something bad happens to me, I should be strong for you, Mom. He told me to always stay by your side and help you,” he said, which made me cry again.

Diego made my son brave like him. I couldn't say a word. He's the best and kind man I've ever met.

The door suddenly opened and the doctor went out. I stood up immediately to ask about his condition.

“ Are you the family of the patient?” He asked me which made me nod while hoping for good news.

“ The patient received severe wounds.” He started while removing his mask.

I couldn't open my mouth to say a word.

“ How is Diego Doctor? How is he?” I couldn't stop but cry In Front of him while Cherry went beside me to comfort me.

“ We are already done with his operation but we couldn't be sure if he would wake up this week. We did all we could, Miss."
