Chapter 7: Hospital
Jasmine POV
“How is she?” I can hear voices around me. He sounded scared to death. I tried to move, but I couldn’t.
What’s happening? I tried to open my eyes, but my head couldn’t hurt when I was forced to do it.
“The patient is now safe; we just have to wait for her to wake up,” a man’s voice said. I tried to calm myself and slowly opened my eyes. A bright light unfolded my eyes that dazzled me.
When I recovered, l looked around. I found myself lying on the hospital bed. And I saw Diego talking to the Doctor. I opened my mouth, but no words escaped from it.
I tried for the second time, and I succeeded.
“Diego-” my voice cracked, and they both turned around to see me. I can see that they were surprised to see me awake.
“You are awake!” He said and held my hand, looking so worried but at the same time happy.
The Doctor started to check on me and said many words, but I couldn’t process it for the moment.
Then something flashbacks to me. I started to cry.
“My baby, Diego.” I cried and held my tummy. I can’t- my baby. What happened to me?
“No,” I shook my head, and Diego went beside me to hold my hand. I remember I saw blood on my hands and my baby.
“your baby is Safe, Ms. Jasmine. Don’t worry. But you have to rest and don’t stress yourself,” the Doctor said, which made me smile. I hugged Diego, and I felt that he was not comfortable. That’s why I let go of him.
“I already told Diego the things that you should eat and the things that you should avoid. For now, I have to go because I have a lot of things to do. “The Doctor tapped Diego’s shoulder, and he nodded.
“You were two days unconscious, Jasmine,” he said. I held my tummy and wiped my tears. I’m happy that my baby is okay.
I even saw brushes in my body.
“Someone called me to say that you are here in this hospital because you crashed into a car. Luckily, you didn’t get hurt that much. “He said. I remember what they did to me that night.
Because of them, I almost lost my baby.
“You were in the news. Some thought you were dead,” he even added. I wiped my tears and looked at him.
“Whatever it is, as long as you are safe, I will do it,” he answered, and I could read how serious he was through his expression.
My tears started falling from my chicks as I realized that I was not alone. There is still someone who helped me.
He held my hand when he saw how hurt I was. I don’t know if he knew something about me, but at least I have someone besides me.
I wanted to get away from this place, I wanted to start a new life, I don’t want them to know that I am still alive. I wanted everyone to know that I was dead. I wanted to start a new life without thinking about them, to get away from suffering and harm.
“Help me, Diego,” I look him straight In the eyes.
“Help me fake my death, help me start a new life, help me get away from this place. Diego, I don’t want to stay in this place for another day. Please help me for the sake of my baby.” I said, and he seemed surprised by what I said.
“In that case, I could talk to the Doctor. He’s my friend. I can help you with that. Besides, it’s not hard to do that because of what happened to you. “He said, and I smiled.
“Thank you Diego, I’m sorry for dragging you into trouble” I said and he shook his head.
“You don’t have to, Jasmine, Anything.”
