Chapter 81: Talk Without Fighting

Jasmine's POV

After I took a shower, I chose the red dress that I bought abroad. It’s really pretty, though it's above the knee, and I really like it. I also wear red heels.

It's already eight in the evening. I looked at my son, who was already asleep. I also let Cherry sleep in our room since I'm attending a party.

It took me thirty minutes to arrive at the reception, and there were a lot of people now. I entered the venue. Bianca and Clarkson saw me. I approached them with a braided smile.

“ Wow, you look gorgeous, “ Binaca said, which made me chuckle. She's gorgeous, too.

“ Thank you. You look gorgeous as always, and congratulations to the both of you,” I told them. We just had a little chat since they also need to entertain their other guests for tonight.

I am walking when I bump into someone.

“ I'm sorry I didn't see you.” I apologized while wiping his seat without looking at him.

I poured a glass of wine on his suit.

“ It's okay.” When I heard his familiar voice, I looked at him, and I was right—it was Travis. I ruined his suit tonight. And I don't feel bad about it. A sly smirk secretly formed on my lips.

“I didn't see you. Don't worry; I'll just buy you another suit tomorrow,” I said in a calm voice. I didn't want to argue with him right now.

“ No, there's no need. It's really okay,” he said while wiping his suit.

“Alright. “ I just smiled a bit, which stunned him. It was like it was his first time seeing me smile at him.

“ Shall we have some drinks?” He asked me and offered me another glass of drink.

I was hesitant to accept it because I was still mad at him for what he did the other day, but I just found myself accepting the wine he offered me.

I sat in the chair, and after I drank it, I placed the glass on the table and grabbed another one.

“ Easy, you're still going to drive later,” he said, but I didn't listen. He sat on the other seat, and I knew he was looking at me.

“ I'm surprised you are not mad at me right now,” he said, even while I glared at him. Does he want me to get mad at him?

“ I don't know what you are talking about. That girl in the bar wasn't my mistress”, he denied; oh well, he's good at lying. No wonder why he fooled me before.

“ Aren't you going to ask what happened to her? Alright I'll just tell you. Your mistress was missing that night. We saw you kissing with her in the bar, which made Stacy mad at you.

This morning, they found her dead, and the investigation said that she was kidnapped and tortured.” I told him. His mood changes quickly. His aura became darker, just like what I was expecting.

“ She's not my mistress, and I don't even know who she is. But I have an idea who did that, '' he said, which confused me. If she's not his mistress, then how could she say that she has an idea who did that to that girl?

“ Are you not going to visit her either? Besides, you also shared some memories. I told him. He placed both of his hands on the table.

“ She is not my Mistress”, he firmly said, like she was mad. I was stunned by the way he acted, and I removed my hand from the table when he noticed my reaction.

“ I'm sorry; I don't mean to scare you. Damn! She's not my mistress, Jaz. Please believe me. I don't even know what happened to her, and I have no idea about her '' She tried to grab my hand, but I shook my head.

“ You know what? I'll just go to the restroom,” I said, not waiting for his response. I hurriedly walked away from that table.

He's mad for real! It's not my fault why I thought that way! I couldn't even try to believe the words he said. All I think is that when he's talking, he's just lying to me.
