"So, you got along with my brother today," Melody leered.

I shrugged, "I guess."

"You two were awfully weird when I got back, did...something happen?"

"What? No."

"Uh huh."

"So, has Gabriel called?"

"Yeah, he apologized to me. But I'm not going to get back together with him, he has to work for it."

I nodded, "He texted me, he wants to make it up to me. But I don't know..."

"Well, he is your boss...maybe you two should talk it out? And tell him why you cheated. Xavien will keep your father away if he somehow finds out you told Gabe," she suggested.

"Is my father dangerous? The last time I saw him, I was ten."

Her eyes widened, "Well, uh...Xavien talked about him a few times. He's insane, I can tell you that."

I leaned back in my seat, wishing life could be simple for once. "You know, if you do have feelings for Gabriel, I won't hate you," Melody voiced.

I looked at her, "What?"

"If he wants you, I'm not going to hate you. I broke up with him for a reason. I want him to figure out what he wants."

"But I don't know either, I need everything to calm down first. I'm too stressed all the time, a boyfriend wouldn't help."

She smirked, "My brother would."

"Melody!"

I sighed as I walked into work, wishing it was still Sunday. When I walked into my office, I found Gabriel sitting in one of the chairs. His face was buried in his hands as he tapped his foot against the floor. A nervous habit of his.

"Why are you here at five in the morning?" I asked, setting my stuff down.

He snapped his head up, "I...I wanted to talk to you. To figure everything out."

I frowned at him, but nodded. "I need those files, by the way."

I quietly followed him to his office, as he searched for the files, I sat down.

"Do you want to know why I cheated?" I asked.

He looked at me, "Yes."

"My dad owed money to Melody's brother. Instead of paying him, he made a deal with him. Either I get the money for him or...I marry her brother. He told me I had to leave you first or Melody's brother would take care of you. I was scared he would hurt you and I knew you wouldn't divorce me unless I gave you a good reason to. At the time, I wasn't able to tell you any of this. So, I made it look like I was cheating on you."

I hadn't realized I had tears going down my face until he gently wiped one away. "I did love you," I whispered.

He stared at me with sorrowful eyes, "I'm sorry," he murmured.

I quickly wiped my tears away, "I was scared when you had asked me the other day. I'm sorry-

I didn't get to finish, soon, he was kissing me. Like always, I kissed him back, missing the feel of him. He picked me up and then sat down in the chair, causing me to straddle him. His hands roamed my body as I ran mine through his hair. I smirked when he moaned from me grinding against him.

"I missed you," he whispered as we caught our breath.

"I know," I replied before he kissed me again.

He slowly unbuttoned my blouse and slipped his hands into my bra. After two years of not touching each other, we couldn't stop. Soon, I was half naked, my blouse and bra discarded on the floor. My hands ran up and down his toned chest and abdomen, enjoying the feel. I could feel his hardened manhood, moaning when he rubbed against me.

"Fuck, I need you," he moaned.

I kissed him on his jaw, "Then what are you waiting for?"

I scowled at him, "Not for me, it was me being able to finally feel wanted by you. My god, my friend loves you! And here I am, screwing you!"

He shrugged, "We were both horny and desperate for each other. It happens."

"How are you so calm?"

"We're both single, Scarlett. You shouldn't feel guilty, Melody left me. Clearly, she doesn't want me," he sighed.

I frowned and looked at my hands, "Were you happy to finally be able to kiss me after two years?"

He frowned, "It felt the same as sex with Melody...well, I'm a littlw more passionate with her."

I sucked in a breath, talk about a slap to the face. His eyes widened, "I didn't mean it like that! I just meant, me and her were a little more...touchy? I just...I forgot what it felt like to love you."

I studied him for a second, "So...where does this leave us?"

"I don't know...I love you and Melody. I hate choosing."

I sighed, "We should be friends for now. I have too much going on to be thinking about dating."

"Scar?"

"Yeah?"

He smiled sadly at me before cupping my cheek, "I'm sorry for hurting you...I was an ass. I just saw you with Xavien and...I'm sorry."

"It's fine."

"No, it's not. I treated you like shit, why don't I take you out to dinner?"

I smiled, "I would like that."
