For the next two weeks, I stayed with Xavien and Melody. Silas had visited me often and continued to keep us updated on Gabriel's company. Apparently, his older brother took over. It confused me that there wasn't any investigation going on, I mean, to everyone else, he's missing. Things between Melody and Darius had been tense, she was trying to get him to open up, but he only pushed her further away. It confused me, I saw the look in his eyes whenever he saw her, but he was afraid of something. I was tempted to ask him, but he just started warming up to me, I don't want to scare him. At first, I thought he was afraid of Xavien maybe, but he told me Darius had a bad childhood.

"His father was a messed up guy, he got Darius addicted to drugs when he was only twelve."

"I need to get a job," I mumbled.

Melody snapped her head up, "Are you ready to?"

I nodded, "I don't want to stay in here anymore. I need some fresh air and something to do."

"Well....my brother needs a secretary."

I grinned, "Since when?"

"Since now."

She scurried out of the kitchen, calling out Xavien's name. I chuckled when she dragged him into the kitchen by his ear.

"Scar wants a job," she stated.

Xavien frowned, "Are you okay?"

I nodded, "I know he's locked up...in your warehouse."

"Okay, well, I need a secretary," he smirked.

"That's what I said!" Melody exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes, "And you ran out before I could answer."

"So....?" Xavien urged.

"Sure."

He grinned, "Well, you start tomorrow at eight am."

"Way better than five, huh?" Melody mused.

I nodded, "And I have a good looking CEO. So far, this job sounds nice."

When I saw the red tint to Xavien's cheeks I chuckled. We have grown closer over the last couple of weeks. Most of our moments together were filled with flirting and teasing each other. The others, we spent discussing my father and where he is. We had agreed that I'll live here until it's over and Darius will stay in my apartment, since he has been searching for a place to stay.

"Yes, he was on drugs. The only reason he got caught is because of his mother. She called the police on him, that's all I know. Don't tell him I told you."

Melody frowned, "But didn't she know it was his father's fault? Why didn't she protect her son better? Didn't she care?"

"No, my mother didn't care about me. She never did, she was always trying to figure out a way to get rid of me. I was a mistake, because of the pill not working."

We all looked over to see Darius leaning against the entrance to the kitchen, his eyes downcast and his eyebrows furrowed.

"Dari..." Melody murmured.

He looked back up, quickly masking the sorrow, "It's fine. I didn't need her anyway, if it wasn't for my dad, she would of had an abortion. So, I sort of owe the guy my life."

"Darius...are you drunk?" Xavien asked.

"Yeah," Darius replied with a nod.

Xavien sighed, "3...2...1."

And just like that, Darius passed out.
