"You're killing the floor," Melody mumbled Xavien walked back and forth.

We all silently sat in the waiting room, eight hours had passed and all we know is, we can't sleep. Melody had cried three times now, mumbling that they had an argument before he went back to the apartment.

"I never told him that I love him," she suddenly whispered, so only I could hear.

I frowned, "He knows you do."

"No, he doesn't. We argued about him hating me before he left. He apologized for being scared then slammed the door close. I was too stunned to do anything. I then figured it would be best to give him some space, but....now..."

"Hey, this isn't your fault."

She sighed before furrowing her eyebrows, "Xavien?"

Her brother stopped his pacing and glanced at her, "Yeah?"

"Did Darius worry about me?"

Xavien smiled softly, he sat beside Melody and nodded. "The worst was when you were married to Raphael. You know that one time, Raphel ended up in the hospital after he had punched you?"

She nodded, "Darius did that...didn't he?"

"Oh yeah, Raphael gave him a bit of a challenge. He refused to see you those two weeks because of the black eye."

"I thought he was disgusted by me..."

Xavien shook his head, "No, he was disgusted by Raphael, your marriage, the abuse, everything. If I hadn't pulled him off, he would have killed the guy."

"Why did you?"

"Darius has never killed someone, he doesn't want to be like his father. If he had killed Raphael...it would have destroyed him. That's why he does the torturing and I do the killing, along with Anthony, Josh, the rest of the mafia..."

Melody frowned, "I thought he hated me."

Xavien released a breath as he hugged his sister, "No, he didn't. He made you believe that because, well, he's scared. Look at it from his point of view, his first view of a relationship was his parents'. They argued all the time, his father would hurt his mother, and his mother would hurt his father right back. He lived a broken house with a broken family, he just did what I used to do."

"What?"

"Screw girls and then leave them, no strings attached."

I awkwardly shifted around in my chair, the thought of him with someone else had my blood boiling. I suddenly felt someone's gaze on me, causing a blush to form on my cheeks. I didn't have to look to see who it was, I already knew it was him.

"But, like Darius, I met someone who made me stop all of that. Granted, she kicked me in the balls last night."

I snapped my attention to him, "I didn't know it was you!"

"I had called your name," he smirked.

"Whatever."

Melody chuckled before eying us, "Alright, I have to say this now. You two, stop fucking avoiding your feelings for each other. What if one of you were on death's porch, hanging out, without being able to admit you love one another?"

I looked down, now thinking of it was Xavien in there. I closed my eyes, I didn't want the image of him bleeding out, but it came anyway. When I opened my eyes again, Xavien was staring at me, multiple emotions sparkled in his eyes.

"I have to make a phone call, real quick," he mumbled.

We both watched as he swiftly walked out of the front doors. I jumped slightly when Melody gently touched my wrist.

"Go talk to him, he's panicking," she whispered.

I furrowed my eyebrows, "Why is he panicking?"

"My brother, surprisingly, is terribly shy when it comes to you. He was never taught how to open up to someone."

"But it has only been a month since we met."

She rolled her eyes, "How long did it take for you to fall for Gabriel?"

"So, how the hell, could someone as beautiful as you fall for someone as hideous as me? I'm talking about our physical looks either, I know I'm good there."

"Xavien."

"For crying out loud, being with me will get you-

"XAVIEN!"

He blinked, "What?"

I rolled my eyes, "I love you, okay? I love you, I love you, I love you."

"How?" He murmured. "I'm a monster, anyone knows that."

"I went behind your back and made Gabriel blind, Darius just helped me lie to you," I whispered. "I'm not innocent, Xavien."

His eyes widened, "You..."

"Yes, and I don't care what you do. I fell in love with every part of you."

He was silent for a second, turning his gaze downward as neither one of us moved, even as it started raining. When he looked at me again, his eyes were a little red. If it weren't raining, anyone could tell that this powerful man was crying. I have no idea what had happened to make him believe he was undeserving of love, but that didn't matter now. What matters now is that my man was crying.

"I love you," he whispered.

I smiled before kissing him again, "I know you don't like feeling vulnerable, but remember this. Around me, you don't have to worry about me seeing you cry or hurting. I'll always take the pain away, no matter what. Even if we get into an argument and I'm giving you the silent treatment, I don't want you ever suffering alone."

He nodded before pulling me against him, not for a kiss, but for a hug. "I'm being a girl right now," he mumbled.

I laughed, "I don't care, I'll be lesbian for you."

That had his smile back and his laughter filling my ears. It was the greatest music I have ever heard in my life.
