"He's incredibly weak due to blood loss, he also had some internal bleeding. Luckily, none of his bones were broken in the attack, but he will be in pain for a while," the doctor explained as I followed her into the halls.

I glanced back at the waiting room to see Scarlett and Xavien walking in, when they spotted me, they only nodded. I swallowed, thoughts of him not wanting to see me ran through my head. He was vulnerable when we had found him, but now he's going to be somewhat stronger. Emotionally. He's not going to want to see me, he's going to throw me out, and he's going to tell me he hates me again.

The doctor's voice pulled me from my thoughts, telling me we were here. She opened the door to reveal a sleeping Darius, he had an IV in, giving him medicine, the heart monitor was showing his steady heartbeat, his skin was incredibly pale though. He body could blend in with the sheets if it weren't for the hospital gown.

"When will he wake up?" I asked, sitting in the chair beside the bed.

She smiled, "Soon, he may be confused at first. Just be careful."

"I-I know you're w-worried about g-getting hurt, but wh-what about me?" I cried softly, trying to stop the sobs. "I can't take it anymore. It's killing me."

I froze when I felt his hand tighten on mine, but he didn't make a sound. I sighed as I laid my head on the bed.

"I love you," I whispered.
