Scarlett POV

Xavien and I walked into Darius' hospital room to see Melody sound asleep, her head resting on the bed. Darius was asleep as well, still not having woken up from his surgery.

"I really hope Darius will treat her better. I know he's afraid, but making her believe he hates her is wrong," Xavien voiced.

I nodded, "I just don't want her getting hurt. I don't think she can take much more."

Xavien grabbed a blanket from the closet and wrapped it around Melody. He then looked at Darius, anger was evident on his features.

"Marco is going to pay for this. Darius is like a little brother to me, I always make sure he's safe," he whispered.

I wrapped my arms around him, "Maybe I should go with him. He'll stop hurting you."

He stiffened, I shrieked when he suddenly grabbed me, pulling me onto his lap as we sat down. He then cupped my face, making me look at him.

"No, if you go with him, I'll never stop hurting. I just got you, I'm not letting you go," he growled.

I frowned, "But everyone is getting hurt because of me."

"My men know what they're getting into, they're willing to do anything to keep you safe."

"I don't like it."

He chuckled, "You're their queen now, baby girl. They don't care if you don't like it, you're worth protecting."

"E-even if that means taking a knife to the stomach and a bullet to the chest. Just what the hell is this?"

We both looked at Darius to see him glaring at the IV. As he went to remove it, Xavien placed me on the couch and slapped his hand away.

"No," he stated.

Darius narrowed his eyes, "I'm not a dog."

"But you are a child...at times."

"Am not!"

"Are so."

"Am not."

"Are so!"

"If you two don't shut it, Darius, that IV will be shoved up your ass and Xavien, I will shoot you in the ass," Melody snarled.

Both men stared at her in horror before quickly going quiet. Melody yawned and rubbed her eyes, flashing both of them a look. I smiled when I saw the love in Darius' eyes, there was no mistaking that smile either. Melody noticed it too, immediately raising an eyebrow.

"What?" She asked.

Xavien nodded, "I think that's enough for now. Get some sleep."

Darius nodded, his eyes fluttered close as he laid on his side and wrapped his arms around Melody's arm. I chuckled softly and ran my fingers through his hair before patting Melody on the back.

"I think you should stay with him," I smirked.

She chuckled, "Not like I have a choice now."

"We need to find out where my father is," I stated as we exited the hospital.

Xavien nodded, "We will, I have Anthony hacking all the systems. We'll eventually find him."

I looked at our hands, smiling when he intertwined our fingers. He then brought my hand to his lips and placed a soft kiss on it.

"As for us..." he murmured, pinning me against his car.

I raised an eyebrow, "I say I love you and you already have a boner?"

He smirked before kissing and sucking on my neck, "I'm always turned on around you...you have no idea how bad it hurts."

I hummed against his neck, "Well, why don't we go home and you show me how bad it hurts?"

He kissed me on the cheek, "Get in the car."
