Andrew sounded stem, but Melody couldn’t heat him.

Melody snapped back to reality, and her instincts as a nurse made her want to step forward to check on Tessa. 

Suddenly, pain shot through heran. Someone yanked her back torcefully. She couldn’t stand steady and got knocked to the side. 

Jeremy brushed past her and crouched infront of Tessa with a serious expression, checking her condition. 

He paid no attention to Melody behind him, who hit her waist against the comer of a table because she lost her balance. 

Melody’s face fumed pale. The pain was so sharp she couldn’t even gasp. 

She could see the chaos around her, but she heard nothing, she trembled as she raised her hand to fix her hearing aid that had come loose. 

However, there was no sound. No sound at all. 

Melody’s eyes went wide, full of fear and panic. 

She took the bearing aid off and put it on again, repeating the action a few times. Yet, there was still no response. 

Her heart raced wildly, and her breathing grew rapid. She walked toward Jeremy. 

He had just finished checking Tessa and was contacting the ambulance. 

Melody grabbed hus sleeve, looking terified. 

Her first bearing aid was a gift from Jeremy. He was the one who helped her practice lip–reading 

She had followed him for so many years that it became second nature to rely on him in moments like this.
