Chapter 27 

Felicia was stunned and asked, “Are you wearing your hearing aid?” 

Then, she remembered Melody couldn’t hear, so she quickly typed on her phone and asked again. 

Melody’s eyes had already tumed red. She tumed around to show Felicia her ear. 

The hearing aid was in place, but she still couldn’t hear, 

Everything was chaotic, and everyone was busy with Tessa, so Felicia took Melody to the hospital by herself 

After examining Melody, Simon typed on his phone. “Have you been hit on the ear or had something press down on it recently?” 

Melody typed slowly. “A few days ago, someone hit my ear with a microphone. Just now, it was hit by flying shards.” 

“Did it hurt?” 

“II hurt a lot.” 

That day in the doctor’s office, Melody’s ear was struck by a reporter pushing through the crowd. It hurt at the time, but Jeremy pulled her away, and she didn’t. have a chance to check 

Later, it stopped hurting, so she ignored it. 

“Your ear suffered damage, so you haveto be very careful. You should never let it get bumped. It looks like you hurt it last time, and now it got another shock. That caused temporary deatness. Try to rest for two days. If you still haven’t recovered, came back right away.” 

Melody thanked Simon. 

Felicia was so scared she broke out in a cold sweat. She helped Melody out of the office. 

Melody had removed her hearing aid completely. Simon said she shouldn’t wear it for the next two days. 

On the way downstairs, Melody remembered she still had some snacks and clothes in the department. She couldn’t work for now, so she wanted to take them home. Felicia walked with her. Melody couldn’t hear, so Felicia acted as her protector. 

The nurses in neurosurgery were all surprised to see Melody. Only Tiffany came over with a friendly greeting. 

Melody nodded in return 

Tiffany looked at Melody’s dress and asked curiously, “Mel, were you at some banquet today? Why are you wearing that dress? It doesn’t suit you.” 

Felida explained, “Her ear is injured. She just took off her hearing aid and can’t hear anything.” 

Tiffany was surprised, but she said, “What’s going on today? Tessa just got brought back to the hospital. I heard she collapsed outside. Dr. Chesson and Dr. Finnigan are working on her now. I better go help.” 

When Felicia beard Jeremy’s name, she raised her eyebrows, though she didn’t show much emotion. 

She looked at Melody. She knew Jeremy was Melody’s fiancé. She also knew that when Melody had trouble with her ear, Jeremy was right there, but he didn’t notice a thing 

Melody and Felicia got her things together and were about to leave.
