Chapter 28 

Felicia hud only focused on Melody’s ear earlier and hadn’t noticed her ami 

Jeremy followed Krystal’s gazeto Melody. Her skin was pale, and the little cuts on her arm stood out. There was dried blood, which made it look worse, 

His face grew colder. His voice dropped as he said, “The emergency room is just downstairs. Get your wounds taken care of, then go home.” 

Melody kept her head down and didn’t speak, as though she hadn’t heard. 

jeremy stood in front of her. Seeing her like this made him feel anodd sense of frustration 

He had never noticed how thin she was. Her arms and neck were so slender that a strong gust of wind might blow her away. 

Felicia couldn’t hold back anymore. She pulled Melody behind her and said, “You two are doctors. You’ve been talking for a while and never noticed something is Wrong?” 

She wore a sarcastic smile as her eyes flicked over Jeremy. “When you show concern for your patient, can you also check on your fiancée ? she took off her hearing ald. She can’t hear you.” 

Jeremy’s brow twitched. He looked at Melody. 

He met beteves just as she looked away, clearly afraid.. 

She clung to Felicia’s hand. People only did that when they had no sense of security. 

Jeremy’s gaze darkened. “Why did she remove her hearing aid? 

Felicia wanted to explain, but Melody had already pulled her hand and walked off. 

She didn’t want to tell Jeremy. She knew he would find her a burden. 

Felicia stayed with Melody while she got her wounds treated. Then Felicia’s workplace called, summoning her to a meeting. 

She hesitated. “I’ll dove you home first. Then, I’ll go to work.” 

Melody shook her head and typed a message on her phone. “Go take care of your work. I can get a ride home.” 

Telicia insisted, “No way. If Jason knew I left you here alone, he would scold me 

She had barely tuished talking when Melody’s phone rang. It was Andrew, 

Melody held her phone, not sure what to do. She couldn’t hear, so she couldn’t answer the call 

Suddenly, a slender hand reached over. It was Jeremy. He had come downstairs after taking off his white coat, 

He hadn’t been on duty to begin with. 

H–looked at Melody. The meaning was obvious. He wanted her to hand the phone over. 

Melody hesitated a moment and offered the phone 

Jeremy didn’t take it. Melody paused, then answered the call and held the phone up for him.
