That comment made it sound like Melody had all the free time in the 

the world. 

She looked down and explained, “I’m just worried there might be things I don’t understand, and I won’t be able to explain them to the professor. 

“You’ve been at this hospital for a long time. If you still don’t know how to explain the equipment. I have no idea what you’ve been doing all this time.” Jeremy’s tope was harsh and carried a trace of annevance. 

Yesterday at the hotel, Melody’s wild assumptions had left him deeply uncomfortable. 

Upon sensing that something was off in his voice, Melody forced a small smile and tumed to speak with the professor 

Jeremy hadn’t replied to the message she’d sent him last night, so Melody didn’t know if he was still angry. 

The professor’s main purpose for this visit was to explore more advanced treatment options for the condition

However, Harold told her that Jeremy and Krystal had already taken the professor back to the hotel. 

He smiled at her. “You were really impressive today, Ms. Wardoll Were you a top student back in school?” He was referring to how she had handled the entire tour inflent Averic. He cunously asked, “Why did you go into oursing with such skills? Have you never thought about studying medicine?” 

Melody explained, “I wasn’t a top student. My grades weren’t great–1 barely got into Jembina Medical University.” 

“It’s not like a lot of our nurses come from Jembina School of Medicine,” Harold joked. 

Jembina School of Medicine was one of the top schools in the country While its nursing program had plenty of students, not many actually pursued hospital nursing in the end. Most chose to work for pharmaceutical companies instead. 

After all, everyone knew being a nurse was exhausting and didn’t pay well. 

Melody chatted with Harold for a little while before leaving 

Back at the hotel, she waited in the lobby, but Jeremy never came downstairs. Instead, she got a call

“Melody, don’t forget to take the dayoff this Friday and come home.” 

Her expression tumed solen. “I know” 

It was Cheryl’s death anniversary that coming Friday, and Melody had already arranged her schedule with the head nurse in advance. 

Andrew continued, “How have things been at the hospital? Have you had any more trouble with your bearing? 

“No, mverything’s fine.” 

Andrew sighed. “That’s good. 

“Melody, you know I worry about you. That’s why I didn’t want you to go back to working at the hospital. 

“But Jeremy called not long ago and said you’ve been doing well. Everyone in your department wants to keep you. That’s why I agreed.” 

Melody was stunned. “Jeremy told you that?” 

“Mm. He said he discussed it with Dr. Tumer” 

A small smile tugged at Melody’s lips. She whispered, “Thanks, Dad.” 

The heaviness she’d been carrying all day seemed to lift in support her return to the hospital,
