It was only after the children’s test results came out that Melody and the others finally got a clearer picture of the incident. It was clear that the food served at the orphanage was problematic. 

Telicia asked, “What has everyone been eating in the orphanage lately? Are they having milk or vegetables, or something along those lines?” 

shaking her head, Lydia replied. “You see, we’ve only been eating the most basic food lately even the milk is the same one we’ve been drinking for a while now. There’s never been an issue with it. I guess the only thing that changed was the pasta we had. It came from Regallo Charity Foundation, though, which has never been an issue before.” 

Melody patted Lydia’s hand reassuringly, took a deep breath, and said, “It would be best to check both the milk and the pasta again.”

Though she didn’t like to think of people in such a negative way, it was a fact that there were many people in society prone to putting on false displays. 

Melody was still figuring out how to send them back as she saw them off from the hospital when she noticed two large buses stationed at the hospital’s entrance. 

Lydia pulled Melody aside, whispering, “Your boyfriend is really considerate, Mel. He had already arranged the buses for us when we arrived this afternoon, otherwise, I would have to rack my brain to figure out how to get here earlier.” 

Melody’s heart skipped a beat, not expecting Jeremy to have everything prepared beforehand. 

Having taken care of everything, Melody bid farewell to Felicia and Jason. Then, she looked at Jeremy and expressed her heartfelt thanks, saying, “I really owe you one today.” 

Jeremy’s expression remained indifferent as he said, “I’ll head back to the hospital now.” 

“I thought you had already requested a leave from Dr. Tumer.” 

Jeremy’s phone chimed with another notification. He glanced at it briefly and said to Melody, “I have other commitments besides spending time with you.” 

Melody hesitated, after which she softly said, “I know that, but you’ll end up exhausting yourself like this.” 

He hadn’t gone home the previous night, likely staying at the hospital, working until the late hours. Then, he came straight here in the morning and spent the entire day working again
