Melody’s pupils contracted slightly, and her breathing quickened. 

This was the first time she had ever heard Jeremy acknowledge their relationship. 

She had thought he wouldn’t answer.

By the time all 63 children had completed their checkups, it was already 10:00 pm. Aside from malnutrition, nearly every child had some form of allergy, digestive issues, or mild food poisoning,

He was carefully studying each test result with a grave expression. 

“lacluding me, there are six caretakers and two janitors.” 

“And do you all eat together? 

Lydia nodded quickly. “Yes, we all eat together, and we’ve never had any issues..” 

She stopped mid–sentence, as if something had just occurred to her. “Wait–no, the janitors have suffered from diarrhea recently, too. We thought it was just because of the hear.” 

Bring them in for testing.” Jeremy ordered decisively. 

She left to contact them while Melody araciously turned to him, terrified. “Do you think you know what’s causing this?” 

There were over to children at the orphanage. Including the staff, there were a total of more than 70 people. A mass food poisoning case like this was not a laughing matter. 

Jeremy noticed the fine sheen of sweat forming on her forehead due to the worry. Her clear, bright eyes had an even darker gaze. 

He said calmly. “It doesn’t seem severe. They likely consumed something with excessive contamination levels. We’ll know once everyone’s checked.” Melody nodded but was still i uneasy. 

Jeremy didn’t offer ber any more reassurance. Instead, he continued reviewing the test reports on the table.
