Willow’s expression froze. Her mind went blank for a moment. She was used to being at odds with Zayn 

Suddenly, she didn’t know how to react when he spoke to her in a voice tinged with grievance and a hint of pleading. 

It had been so, so long since they had a proper conversation. 

After a brief pause, Willow responded flatly, “Mr. Carter, you should go to the hospital if you’re injured. What’s the use in telling me? 

“Willow, I’m in too much pain to drive to the hospital” 

Willow was about to say he could take a cab or have Liam pick him up. But before she could get the words out, Zayn spoke again in that pitiful and aggrieved tone. “Willow, I got hurt rescuing you. You can’t leave me like this!” 

This attitude of claiming a debt of gratitude left her speechless. 

Willow didn’t want to deal with Zayn, but his tone sounded pathetic. He did save her life. 

When Wilhelmina drove the car toward her, her ankle hurt so much that she couldn’t n 

Zayn helped her dodge that calamity 

far. She could have been seriously hit 

Even though she hated and resented him, a favor was a favor. Tonight, he helped her, so she should give him some medicine for his injuries.

Seeing Willow’s attitude soften, Zayn promptly released her. 

Willow quickly took out her keys from her bag and tried to open the door. After all that fuss, the door still didn’t open. 

To her immense embarrassment, Willow realized that she had been using the wrong key all along. 

The keys for each door in this small apartment looked different. She had never made this mistake before. Tonight, Zayn’s actions had thrown her off, leading her to commit this silly error. 

Zayn watched Willow’s actions, unable to suppress his joy. 

She was nervous. 

The fact that she still got nervous around him proved that deep down she still cared about him. 

This realization lifted Zayn’s spirits, purting him in a great mood. 

It even made him want to give Willow a chance to explain what happened four years ago. 

She had explained countless times before, and he hadn’t believed her. But now, he was willing to give her one last chance, and himself as well.
