Chapter 394
1/1
Willow’s brow knitted in frustration as she watched Zayn begin to take off his clothes.
She had only suggested he go to the hospital out of concern, but he seemed intent on proving her wrong.
Regret stabbed her as she realized her mistake in allowing him inside in the first place.
“Mr. Carter, I think it’s best if you leave,” she said, pointing to his suit jacket
To her surprise, Zayn didn’t react with his usual aggression. Instead, there was a vulnerability in his eyes as he awkwardly lifted his left arm, almost as if pleading for understanding.
“willow, didn’t you give me the medicine so I could apply it?”
Willow was left speechless. His question caught her off guard.
The way he framed it, it sounded like she was the one with ulterior motives, doubting his intentions.
Feeling a surge of frustration, Willow turned her face away, dismissing Zayn as if he were nothing more than air.
Since he wanted to apply the medicine, fine He could do it and then hit the road.
As for his clothes, he could strip down if he pleased. It wasn’t like she hadn’t seen it before, and there wasn’t anything worth seeing anyway.
With that realization, a wave of calm washed over Willow. If she could handle the sight of street pack laid out in the open, she could certainly tolerate Zayn standing there half- naked
It was no big deal.
Since what stood before her was merely a slab of meat, Willow saw no need to look away. She unabashedly let her eyes roam over Zayn’s exposed form.
But then she noticed something–his left arm was badly injured.
There was a nasty, bloody gash running several inches along his left arm.
Clearly, he had lost quite a bit of blood, but she hadn’t noticed earlier because his suit jacket was black.
A pang of unease settled in Willow’s chest, but she pushed it aside, maintaining a cool, detached tone. “Mr. Carter, if you’re going to apply that medicine, do it quickly. Then you need to leave. It’s late, and I need to rest.”
willow, help me with the medicine. Zayn thrust his injured arm forward deliberately. “I’m hurt, I need your help.”
“Mr. Carter, you’ve got hands, don’t you? Apply the medicine yourself! Willow’s resolve hardened as she maintained her cold demeanor.
“Willow, my right arm’s busted too. I can’t Et it,” Zayn countered.
With effort, Zayn moved his right arm, revealing scrapes and significant swelling, despite the minimal bleeding.
Willow’s gaze lingered on Zayn’s injured arm, momentarily distracted in a flash, he pulled her into his embrace. His hold was firmaround her waist.
