Present time...
If there is one thing I'm sure about Alpha Victor, it's that he hates the Wade brothers. Deeply. His hatred for them is like hot, burning lava erupting from a volcano that has been active for years, since the two of them were born. He hates them for the fact that despite being at a young age, Alexander had already surpassed him in terms of wealth and strength, connections as well as power only he could possess in his wildest dreams. Every wolf in Blue Mountains Pack is not ignorant of our alpha's intense thirst for power, that he's done everything to make us who we are today.
I remember when he used to let us train a day long. When one of us makes a wrong move or complain about being exhausted, his beta would let us train 'til after midnight. All of us thought it's what's best for the pack, and that Aloha Victor was doing this for the better. To make us stronger than the rest of the packs in United States. For years, we've been made to believe our strength and aversion to weakness are the things that give us ultimate power. However, from what I have observed it seemed we were brainwashed to become Alpha Victor's live killing machines. Weapons he created to realize his greatest ambition and desire for complete worldwide dominance.
I took a deep breath, and closed my eyes. Suddenly, memories from the past years came flooding back to my mind like waterfalls, flashing all the images I've locked away in a locked chest to the darkest part of my soul. I never wanted any of this. I never meant to figure out his daughter's curse. Had I known it will snatch my freedom and innocence away just like that, I wouldn't have come to the party like my mother insisted. I hated my life. I hated how I was a prisoner for so long and no one knew what I had suffered in that monster's hands. Not even his pretty little daughter.
Every time I look at her, I see my own innocence, and my freedom I had lost. And even if I force my eyes to turn away I couldn't. I hated her to the very core. She would pop up in front of me and my eyes would turn dark red in extreme rage and hatred while my heart would turn into stone. Cold and hard.
I gritted my teeth, balling my hands into fists as I recalled the numerous times I had slapped her across the face. She deserved more than that.
I stood trembling in the middle of Alpha Victor's office. The place where it all started.
One night I dreamed that I burned the entire place down to ashes, along with that evil monster who took everything I had. I could feel heat burn across my skin as anger took over my body completely.
My breathing quickened as the trauma from my past clouded my mind. I had to blink several times before I was able to get my vision clear once again, when unexpectedly, a magnetic force ripped open my mind and created a connection against my own will.
My heartbeat sped up a million times over when a familiar voice rang inside my head. Invading my mindspace until I felt like a massive, heavy hand was wrapped around my neck, squeezing ever so tightly despite the fact I stood here alone.
There can only be one person capable of such power over my mind.
'Where is she?' The deep, grueling voice of our alpha boomed in my head, demanding submission and the answer he wanted to hear.
But the fates don't seem nor appear to be on my side today, because he probably knew I didn't have the answer he was longing for in his mind.
'T-The rogues still haven't found her, Alpha'
Before I even got to finish that sentence, his loud, deathly growl seeped through the mindlink. Sending shivers of fear shoot throughout my body an up my spine.
'FIND HER!' His demanding voice straightened me up from the chair I was seated on. The next thing I know I was nodding sharply at his commanding words despite knowing he couldn't see me.
'Yes, Alpha' I replied nervously.
'Have you done what I told you to do?' Alpha asked with a threatening voice. I knew better than to think of it merely as a question and not a warning. A warning that told me he'd come kill me if I didn't give him a positive response.
'I've successfully gave her the whole bottle, Alpha' I assured him.
'Good, that's what I want to hear. Especially from you, Barbara.' His words suddenly made my whole body freeze as I clenched the fabric of my dress. I gulped down my nervousness, feeling a light bead of sweat trickle down my face.
"What do you mean, Alpha?" I whispered and he growled at my bold decision to question an alpha who is far superior than myself.
'Do you really think I am not aware of your every move, Barbara? Do you really think I am not aware that you've been pleasuring Alexander's brother with your body every full moon?' I could practically hear him smirk just hearing the mockery in his voice. He's trying to suppress his anger too much though I could still hear him gritting his teeth.
'Adrian Wade, the wolfless brother. Funny how you wanted an alpha but goddess gave you a human instead' he chuckled.
I bit the inside of my cheeks. Gnashing my teeth as anger and fear and shock settled at the pit of my stomach because of his words. As much as he thirsted for power, he liked to dominate women in and out of the bed. He always told me I was his mistress, his exclusive property, and he was crazy serious about it. Mind you, he killed a male warrior who just helped me stand up to my knees when I fell on the floor due to exhaustion. It was after he released me from his room, and I felt sore in every part of my body. Especially the part in between my legs. I'd never touched another man since...
Since I met him.
'I know you're Adrian's mate. And I have some good news for you when I return.' He continued.
I can imagine the alpha smirk, leaning back against his chair while he stares down at me, like he usually does.
'When will you return, Alpha?"' I ask in an attempt to change the subject.
'Sandra and I have to deal with a problem our daughter has caused us one more time. In the meantime, Mike will be there soon to run the pack. Apparently the alliance needed to let him go for lack of evidence. And Eleanor's bruises could have been from anyone. The blame had to be placed on either me or Sandra alone.'
