Estelle's POV
I felt relaxed and safe in the envelope of Lance's scent. His muscular arms squeeze my body and I anticipate the alpha's touch. lance's aquamarine eyes look into mine and the markings on the back of my neck begin to heat up. The tightening sensation in my belly came faster than I thought it would, and my body felt like melted cream limp on the bed.
A thin layer of sweat beads up on Lance's skin, and the dim light reflects a yellowish glow on his body. My spirit was wrapped warmly around my partner, then its tentacles became aggressive as he moved over me.
"Slow down." My fingers clasped his back.
"You forgot to say 'please'." A grunt escaped my nose as Lance's tongue left a wet, watery trail across my chest.
"Control freak." I pushed his head away from my chest.
"Wrong answer." Lance jerked up and an immediate swelling sensation came from my lower body. But along with the pain, I was filled with satisfying pleasure. My nerve endings sparked with pleasure, and Lance didn't give me a chance to adjust as he pulled out and in roughly, hitting my pleasure spot with each stroke.
I screamed and bit into Lance's shoulder as the pleasure burned deep in my stomach. My fingers clawed at his shifting loins as the link between us burned with fire.
"Slow down! Please..."
Lance kept toppling over and over throwing me to the edge of the world as I cried out. I finally fell into a long blank zone of consciousness as Lance's low growl rang in my ears. My skin was flushed all over with the marks of Lance's lovemaking.
I was so exhausted that I didn't resist at all when Lance carried me into the tub. I buried my face in Lance's chest and let my limbs float in the warm water. Then I fell into a half-asleep state, except for a twitch in my lower body as Lance cleaned me up.
When I awoke, Lance's steady breathing was in my ears. His chest was pressed against my arm and I felt the beating of his heart. I was about to fall asleep again with the regularity of his heartbeat when Lance's cell phone rang. He touched the phone and picked up the call, then sat up with a serious expression.
"I got it, come right over." Lance said to the other end of the phone.
"Is something wrong?"
Lance grabbed a handful of his messy black hair and didn't answer my question. "I'll have Irene take you home. You stay well at the wolves and don't wander off."
"What's going on?" His avoidance made me more suspicious that it had something to do with me, but Lance only left me with a backward glance. I couldn't help but be angry every time, and if he didn't tell me anything, then I couldn't be blamed for running off.
Irene appeared in my room in a perfect professional suit not long after, and I was still lying on the bed in my bathrobe. And my scrunched up shorts and shirt should have been thrown away by Lance.
Irene put a pile of garments with hangers and cloth bags in front of me, and I guess Lance was adamant about preventing me from going out in my bathrobe. I picked out the cheapest looking dress in the set, even though I thought it would be worth a year's tuition. On the way home I tried to pry some information from Irene.
"Alpha left in a hurry, do you know where he went?" My tone was laced with worry, though I didn't expect to rely on that to coax the female AI in front of me into talking.
"I don't know, it's not my area of responsibility." Her hands were steady on the steering wheel and she didn't give me a look.
"Shouldn't you be in charge of his trip?" I tried to question her professionalism, and she finally loosened up a little.
"It's an emergency, I have no right to ask questions."
An emergency I couldn't know about, a scope that didn't narrow down a bit. I never got anything more out of Irene before I reached home; she just warned the guard at the door before she left. I think the guards looked at me with knives shooting out of their eyes; they should have hated me.
"What's going on with your head?" I heard Nathan question just as I got home.
