Ryn's pov

I looked at him shocked "Come again?" I asked him. I must've heard wrong. There's no way this criminal thinks he'll be staying with me.

"Ah but I haven't come inside you yet so how can I come again?" He asked smugly and arched his brow in mockery.

I got off the sofa and watch in satisfaction at the quick shock that settled on his features a second ago, only to disappear to reveal his cocky attitude.

I marched towards him my features vexed and gripped him around his neck when I had gotten near him. I applied pressure and brought my face closer to his until we were about a breath apart.

"Don't you ever speak to me like that again?" I spat out. It didn't seem to faze him as I was now rewarded with a teasing smile. I forced my eyes to stay on his and not stray to look at those inviting lips of his.

"But why shouldn't I bellissima? When you clearly like it judging by those dilated pupils of yours?" He retorted and smirked when my brave face faltered and now was replaced by embarrassment.

I let him go and wiped my hands on my pajamas, showing him that it disgust me for even touching him.

I sighed it was useless fighting him at this point we both wanted the same thing which was to bring down Robert once and for all.

"It doesn't really please me to have a criminal stay with me, I'm a cop after all I could lose my job over this." I stated and went to sit back down. I crossed my legs and folded my arms as I waited for him to speak up.

He snorted and rolled his emerald eyes at me. "No one has to know that you have a handsome man living with you, besides it's only for a while until we put the asshole behind bars."

"You're a wanted man Ace, what makes you think that someone will not catch you before you catch Robert?" I asked intrigued to know his response.

He let out an amused chuckle "If you couldn't catch me what makes you think someone else will?"

"I could have caught you if I really wanted to Ace!" I retorted back boastfully. I doubt I could but he didn't need to know that. The man seriously doesn't need to boost his already too big of an ego.

He snorted before going into full belly laughing. My jaw ticked in irritation at his obvious amusement at my words. What a dick!

He stopped laughing and looked at me seriously "Sure you could have bellissima, I don't doubt it," He said sarcastically.

"You know you ought to show respect for the person who's allowing you a criminal to stay at her home." I said angrily. I was sure my face was now red in anger and I could picture the invisible smoke coming out of my ears right now.

"Criminal, I'm starting to think that you love that word officer." Ace smirked. I glared at him meaningfully and rolled my eyes at his audacity to mock me at this point.

It would be useless quarreling with him, we'll just end up to square one.
