Ryn's pov
His words didn't come to a shock to me if anything I was expecting it. I looked at Ace to see that he was spotting a shocked look and shifted his eyes from Nate and me.
I looked at Nate biting my lips as I contemplated how we'd get out of this mess. Nate tugs at his hair and lets out an angry groan.
"Alright it shouldn't shock us that they got the finger prints. What we should be asking here is who knows Ace's face to identify him, I mean not many people know who exactly Ace Reed is, they just know how to fear the name when uttered." I voiced out looking at the both of them.
Ace clears his throat looking uncomfortable before speaking up. "Well the red haired waitress knows me so I'm guessing it was her." He says and avoids looking at me.
My teeth clench as I knew exactly who he was talking about. "How does Seraphine know you?" I asked harshly.
He looks directly at me while he speaks. "I slept with her on one occasion, it wasn't anything serious. But she's probably not the only one who recognized me today, I have been to that restaurant multiple times. The workers are well familiar with my face by now." He ends and moves his eyes away from me to look at Nate.
My face turns sour as his first sentence kept on repeating in my head creating a sudden rage that filled my being. I wasn't familiar with that feeling but it could only describe as jealousy, well from what I have heard it isn't pleasant and I could certainly agree to that.
I was never one to be jealous, not even when my high school principal chose Brent Mccover over me to be the school valedictorian even though I had topped the school and the state. I had brushed it off but now here I was getting jealous because Ace slept with a girl that wasn't me.
I was such a hypocrite for feeling this way when I had just told him I don't care who he sleeps with and even went far in telling him that I do also, which was the biggest lie I've ever told.
"Nice going Ace, you just love sticking your dick in any hole that you please huh?" I spat shocking all of us in the room. What had gotten into me?
I sighed embarrassed and changed the topic. "Okay everyone is aware that Ace is wanted so it's not such of a big deal that he was spotted at the restaurant. I think a lot of people were expecting him to be the cause. Which he was." I said and gave him a pointed look.
He raises a brow. "How am I the one at fault?"
I rolled my eyes. "Are you kidding me? Those men were after you, they knew you'd be there. I was dumb enough to go with your plan, next time I'm making the plans around here."
He lets out a breath of irritation. "My plan was going perfectly fine, in fact Gustin was about to give me the information concerning the dorks but death took him before he could."
"And whose fucking fault was that?" I yelled raising my hands in exaggeration.
A throat clears and we both shift our eyes to the culprit. Nate stands there shifting uncomfortably before opening his mouth to speak. "As much as I love seeing both of you argue I should really be on my way to the station before they get Ryn's fingerprints."
I nodded. "Go ahead Nate, thank you for this, I owe you one."
He smiles. "Just give me a date with Miranda and we're even." He says and starts walking away.
I scowl at his back. "I don't even know the girl, I had just met her today. For all I know she could be a lesbian."
