Rebecca's pov
I cursed silently as I closed the gate and walked to Ryn's motorcycle. Ryn and Ace had just left with my jeep leaving me to look for other means of transportation. I sighed looking at the one thing that scared me on this earth.
I grumbled and walked pass it, I was sure that I'll find a way to reach that hospital but it wouldn't be on boogey man. I looked at my watch that was wrapped securely around my wrist and let out strings of curses when it read six o'clock.
If that asshole Nale or was it Nate, had come to pick me up this wouldn't have happened and it was all his damn fault. My boots knocked the concrete underneath it as I stomped my way to Jude's.
Ten minutes in the walk loud voices of kids could be heard. I brought my attention to where they were to see two little girls and a boy riding their kid scooters.
I chewed my bottom lip when an idea suddenly came to mind. Acting on it, I looked up and down the road before crossing to where they were.
Their little joyful sounds floated around the quiet neighborhood and for a second I wish that was how my childhood would have been.
I jogged up to reach them and shouted." Hey you three!"
They stopped in a hast and stared at me wide eyed, clearly startled. "Yes ma'am?" One of the little brunette haired girls whispers lowly.
I cleared my throat trying to not scare them away. "You see I need to be somewhere," I looked at the watch on my wrist to see six o' five. "Like right now and I'd love it if you can help me with my little problem."
The other little girl with strawberry blonde hair looks up at me and smiles. "How can we help you miss?"
"I'd love to borrow that little scooter, how much do you want?" I asked and pointed at her light pink scooter. I couldn't believe I was asking them this.
"How about a flash of your boobs?" The little boy smirks. I stagger back in shock staring at him wide eyed. How old was this kid? He didn't look a day older than eight.
"Listen here little boy, show me some respect before I pay your family a little visit and tell them what you just said to me." I warned and stoop to his level.
"Nice try old lady but my dad wouldn't give a fuck if I was behaving badly, he's too busy getting drunk." The kid had the nerve to roll his eyes at me.
