THIRTY-EIGHT
H A R R Y
"You have safely landed in New York. Thank you for choosing British Airways. May you have a great day!"
I was woken up by the intercom and quickly stared outside the window. I'm finally back here in New York and I came here for Miranda. I wanna have a personal conversation with her while Audrey is out in France for her fashion week and she's not even bothered about our baby's health or neither her health. And Louis is also in London for his football team.
I stepped out of the airplane and quickly shove my bag over my shoulder. I fixed my hat and quickly walked out of the airport as I ran fast to my car so I won't get noticed even though some people saw me. I didn't really want to be seen by the paps and Audrey doesn't know I came here. I didn't wanna talk to her about it because I'm sure she'll fly all the way here to New York and fetch me again. I want some personal time with Miranda because I have so many things to ask Miranda Rose.
I drove to Ludlow Hotel and reserved a presidential suite under the pen name of Barry Green so that the fans and the employees won't know that I'm staying here. I've also decided that I won't be staying at Royalton since I'm known to be residing there whenever I come here in New York.
I stepped out of my car and handed the car key to the valet driver. I walked inside causally and headed straight to the front desk. I grabbed my keycard and headed up to my room. I threw my stuff to the bed once I got inside. I pulled out the necklace from my bag and stare at the pendant.
My mind thinks about Miranda.
Miranda Rose.
Miranda Rose.
Miranda Rose.
Her name runs around my head like the songs on the set list that I need to memorize for a concert.
How come I didn't know her last name was Rose? Why didn't she tell me? She knew about it but why didn't she say anything at all? She could be that woman that I've been searching for.
I grabbed the remote and turned on the television. As I scan through the different channels that I was absentmindedly watching, the news quickly got my attention. I got myself up from the bed and stared at the news eagerly. It was a video of Ben being followed by the paparazzi while he was at school.
How come this kind of scrutiny also involves to kids? Ben doesn't have to be passing through hell. I know how annoying these people are and Ben is just a little six year old boy who doesn't have any idea on what's going on around him even though he's a smart kid. But how come they ruin a kid's childhood so easily? How come these kind of people are so heartless even to kids his age?
"Benedict Rose, who is this little boy's father? This question still runs on everyone's head until now, even to us, and no definite answer from his mother. But it is undeniably obvious that the resemblance of Harry Styles is evident to this little boy. Since his mother, Miranda Rose, who's currently dating Mr. Louis Tomlinson, is still tight lipped about the whole issue, we can't fully say who's the father to Ben. But we are all curious."
"Miss Rose was mobbed by media and fans this morning right outside Alfonso's, once the people knew where she was working they were in hopes of talking to the instant famed waitress from Alfonso's, Miranda Rose."
"Mobbed?" I mumbled.
I pulled myself up from my bed and headed out of the room. I gaze at my watch and it was already four in the afternoon. I rushed to my car and drove quickly to Ben's school.
Once I reached the school gates, there were massive people right outside the school. I grunted as I stare at the crowd from afar. "How am I gonna go in without being noticed?" I asked myself.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw Miranda and Ben being crowded by the people who barged inside the gates in a split second. The security guards weren't able to stop them because everyone was rushing in. I couldn't see Ben anymore, the only person I could sight from here is the top of Miranda's hair. I know I had to do something to help them but the paps are around.
I'll be all over the news in a few hours and Audrey will kill me if she'll know I'm in New York.
But I'll have to save them.
What am I going to do?

"Miranda, please tell us something about Ben's father." One microphone was handed close to my mouth.
"Miss Rose, where is Louis? Is it true he's in Los Angeles?"
"Ben look at this camera!"
"Can you please smile for us Benedict?"
I kept holding Ben's hand and I was making sure I won't let go of him. I was making sure he'll be safe with me. Ben has some history with asthma and it always happens once in a blue moon but when it'll happen, it's worse. I'm always worried of it cos I'm so scared that he won't be able to breathe. There were so many cameras and so many people surrounding us that were all over my face and there weren't much space for me and Ben to breathe. Most especially for Ben.
"Mom I can't breathe." I hear Ben's tiny voice.
I quickly carried Ben on my arms and even though there were guards who were trying to let us through, they couldn't get is out from the massive crowd that was surrounding us. Ben was already having a hard time on breathing while he lays his head over my shoulder. I could feel him breathing in and out so fast and I'm getting nervous for him. I'm worried that his lungs won't work and won't get some air in. I feel my tears almost building up but these people seemed to be so heartless and they won't even move aside to let us through.
"Oh my god Ben. Hang in there baby. Mom's going to get you out of here." I say as I rub his back.
"M-mommy...." he looks at me with teary eyes. "I can't...." he inhales deeply. "I can't breathe...." he wheezes.
"Please. I'm begging you all to let us through. My baby boy..." I begged but no one dared to listen to what I was saying. All they wanted to make sure was to hear a statement that was coming from me.
"M-m-mom..." Ben's voice weakens.
Suddenly a loud prolonged honk echoed through the entire school ground and all of us turned to the car that was right behind the na sauce people. The front lights were on and the car kept on honking that made the crowd go into half. I know exactly who owns that car but I wasn't forcing myself to believe that it's his car.
I don't want to think he's here cos why would he, right? He's busy with Audrey, their upcoming wedding and of course Audrey's pregnancy.
Suddenly, the car stopped right before us. Harry suddenly steps out and all of the crowd's attention was turned to his direction. He quickly rushed to us and the people started crowding on us even more the second they saw Harry.
"What's happening to Ben?" He asked.
"Unc-uncle... Har...ry..." Ben still called out Harry's name even though he was having a hard time breathing.
My tears were already falling as I hand Ben to Harry. "He's having asthma attack. We need to take him to the doctor ASAP."
Harry carried Ben and quickly held my hand, intertwining his fingers in between mine. He pulled me through the crowd as he push the people blocking his way. He was strong enough not to let go of my hand but I kept my eyes glued on Ben who's having teary eyes and his asthma is getting worst.
