Just then Tim walks in and Nick is standing in their living room completely naked. He freezes right where he's at. "What the....." He looks from us to Nick then back at us. "Did someone give him tequila again?" We all start laughing including Tim. Tim shakes his head. "I don't want to know. I don't want to know." He looks at me. "Hey, Kamdyn nice dance last night. I had no idea you were so......talented."
"Did everyone see that? I'm never dancing again." I cover my face with both hands, mortified.
"I wouldn't do that." Nick says. "You could make some good money dancing like that, you could pay your way through college."
"Ha ha. You guys are so hilarious." I put my hot face against Ian's shoulder and he laughs, rubs my back. Good thing it's not possible to die from embarrassment because I definitely would right now. Ian leans in and kisses my temple.
"That was the hottest thing I've ever seen." Nick says. "Who needs porn when I can think about you grinding against Jacobs."
I look up at him and he picks up his towel off the floor, puts it on his butt and pulls it from side to side before slowly walking out the living room. I just shake my head. "And this is why you asked me over here?" I ask Ian.
"No, this is why I asked you over here." He says before giving me a long kiss, that kiss almost made up for their teasing. Almost.
"Just thinking about it is going to make me come." Aaron says.
"What the dance or seeing Langston's junk?" Tim asks.
We all laugh. Aaron pretends to think. "Both."
I'm laughing so hard it hurts, I can't remember the last time I've laughed this hard, even if I am the butt of their joke.
"Seriously though, Kamdyn, can we see that again? I volunteer to play Jacobs." Tim says.
"Okay, okay, everyone leave my girlfriend alone." Ian says, all the laughter stops and it's so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
My heart stops completely. "Girlfriend?" I ask over the lump in my throat.
Ian looks uncomfortable, rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah you know, you're my friend
and you're a girl." He shrugs uncomfortably. "Girlfriend."
Tim clears his throat before making a quick exit and Aaron has suddenly acts like the fabric of his shorts is the most interesting thing he's ever seen.
"Yeah, I know what you meant." I force a little laugh. The room that was full of laughter moments earlier is now heavy with silence. Everything just got awkward and all because he accidently said I was his girlfriend. What? Did they all think I was going to start confessing my love for him or something? I know he didn't mean it like that, I mean for a second there I thought maybe....but now I know he didn't, especially since he suddenly can't even look at me. "It's okay." I tell him. "I know what you meant. I'm not going to start stalking you or anything. You're safe."
He and Aaron exchange looks before he looks back at me. "Okay, cool."
More awkward silence. I shift in his lap uncomfortably and his entire body is stiff
beneath me. If just saying girlfriend makes him this uncomfortable we're never going to be in a relationship and maybe I'm just wasting my time. "I'm going to go. I'll talk to you later. Okay?"
"I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of him right now, I don't like how he's just stringing my best friend along."
"He's not stringing me along, Jess, we're having fun."
"No, he's having fun, you're torturing yourself." She tells me.
"I'm fine."
"Questioning every little thing he does and says and talking about him all the time is not fine. You can't keep doing this to yourself. You over think everything."
"Fine, I won't talk about him to you anymore." I said getting annoyed. Excuse me for actually caring about someone. Not everyone can be like her and have no feelings.
"That's not what I'm saying. I only meant it's not just sex for you and you need to do something about that. Either tell him how you feel or end it. It's not fair for you to torture yourself like this."
"Hey, Kamdyn, Jess." Derek Samson, one of our friends from class comes up from behind us. How long has he been standing there? Did he hear any of that?
"Hey." We say in unison.
He gets between us and puts his arms around our shoulders and starts walking with us down the side walk. "Do either of you have the notes from Tuesday?"
