Days passed by and tonight is the night I’ve been waiting for. After four years of waiting, we will finally meet again.
I was wearing my black leather jacket when my phone rang.
“Kendra,” I answered the phone while I’m still busy finishing my look with the black boots I used to wear this time.
“The key was on the shelves inside your room Jada, good luck.” She uttered before ending the call.
I smiled at the thought of the Bugatti that I will be using for the race. I quickly entered the room and find the key, excitement fills me again when I found it, not because of the car that I will be using but rather the events that await me there.
As expected my jaw almost dropped when I reached the parking lot and finally see the car, after a couple of attempts to see this personally was always ended up interrupted by someone or something.
I drove as fast as I can to the venue of the race, and as I get closer to it, my heartbeat was in enthusiasm and eagerness to crush that Russo.
When I arrived, the audience was scattered and eyeing the cars made to amused people. I tie my hair in a messy bun and let some strands fall onto my face before I went out.
“Look who’s here.” It was Martini.
“The one and only Jada Turner!” He exclaimed good enough to attract the attention of people around us, which made me glare at him.
“Shut the f*ck up Martini,” I whispered.
“You look dazzling tonight Jada!” Taken aback when Lexus speak and showed up at the back, I remained with my firm face.
“You seemed prepared for this night to happen, too bad your pretty face will be only crushed on the racing field later.” He flashed a wide grin before passing by.
“Don’t mind him, Jada,” Martini whispered.
“Of course, he’s not worthy of my time.” I shot back and started roaming my eyes on the group of racers.
“Aren’t they here yet?” I asked.
“Not yet. Chill, the race will start in 30 minutes, they’ll surely come.” He replied.
They should be. I didn’t reply anymore and walked to a small bar corner.
“Vodka please,” I ordered on the bartender. Why do I feel like something will about to happen tonight?
My eyes quickly shifted to the McLaren that stops by, followed by Agera RS, Venom GT, SSC Tuatara making the crowd wild and cheering for them. They are here, I felt the rage instantly fill me when Russo came out of the SSC. I shot up the vodka straight and kill him with my glares even he wasn’t noticing me yet. It’s been four years, I hope he still remembers me ‘cause if not, I’ll make him remember me.
My eyes suddenly locked on the cars approaching. The Bugatti Chiron took my interest the other day, so he was here.
“Don’t drink too much Jada, the race wasn’t even starting yet.” Martini sat on the vacant seat next to me.
I didn’t answer and put my focus on Russo instead, he didn’t change.
“He was here.” Martini breaks the silence after a couple of minutes.
“Who?” I asked shortly glancing at him.
“The man behind that Bugatti.” He replied.
“But he wasn’t going off his car.”He added.
“Curiosity might kill you.” I joked around.
“Whoever he is he’ll surely crush us later.”
“It doesn’t matter, as long as I’ll eliminate that Russo on the road first.” I shot back.
“Oh right, let’s focus on that first.”
After a couple of minutes, we entered the car when the starter signals us to be ready. I can feel the tension when I got inside the car, as I shift my gaze to the SSC Tuatara at my right corner, I saw how Russo flashed a wide grin at me and even wave his hand. What an assh*le, he looks like a sh*t.
I didn’t bother to make face and give my focus on the road, I don’t need a distraction. I need to win. On the left corner, it was the Bugatti Chiron but the windows were tinted so I don’t have any idea who he was.
When the starter pulled down the flag, I didn’t waste any more time and maneuvered. Russo’s car was in lead followed by mine and the Bugatti, I frowned when the Bugatti next to me was effortless driving. It was like it guides me along the racing track, is he insulting me?
I shifted my speed to its maximum speed and I managed to meet the level of Russo while the Bugatti was behind me. Stop it, Jada, focus on Russo. And that’s what I did, I didn’t mind the Bugatti from the back and drifted on the next corner so I’ll be able to take the lead, I smiled when I made it but quickly fades away when the wheel tightened and can’t manage to control. My car started to turn around three times and lost momentum. The last thing I knew I was watching the SSC passed me by followed by the Bugatti.
I glanced at my mirror and close my eyes, I lose again.
“What the f*ck Jada! Pull yourself together! You waited for this to happen!” I growled and started roaring my engine again even when I couldn’t see the Bugatti and the SSC anymore. I maneuvered to the maximum and tried to cope with them but no matter how fast my car was, I wasn’t able to meet their speed. It was like a battle of the Bugatti and the SSC now, while I was watching from behind.
What shocked me the most is when the Bugatti do the drifting I made earlier at the next corner made him the lead and was able to control the wheel and continue his momentum, making him win the race and drove fast out of the venue. That was jaw-dropping.
“Huh you’re still weak aren’t you? It’s been four years and yet you haven’t changed still.” Russo mocked in front of me the moment I went out of my car.
“Her steering wheel locked.” Martini shot back. I push him a bit and face Russo, no matter how tall he was I won’t be intimidated by his tattoos and big build.
“You didn’t win either.” I snarled.
“You’re a woman now.” He whispered that sent shivers to me for a sudden change of topic.
