Two days had gone by since the challenge was issued. I hadn't left my room in those two days and nobody had come to check up on me. There was a dull ache in my abdomen today and I felt a bit feverish. The door lock clicked and the door was pushed open. Jairus entered with a smile on his face.

"You haven't come out for two days"

"What's the point?" he sat on my bed.

"The duel is in two weeks"

"Why is it far away?"

"So you have time to prepare"

"There's no point. One week, three months, the result will still be the same. Gardenia will best me. I'm not about to prepare just to die."

"You can also win. You just need to practice. It'll just be games. Archery, hunting and sword fighting"

"I really don't care"

"You're giving up without even trying. After four centuries, my Lycan has just began bonding with who he recognises as a mother and you just want to leave without trying?"

"Jairus...."

"I'll be waiting for you in the gym at the East wing by noon. If you don't come....... I'll take it you've chosen your path" he walked out of the room. I didn't see the point in trying. I wasn't going to win at anything.

At noon I met him at the gym. He had a smile on his face as he saw me. I fiddled with my fingers.

"I've decided to try"

"That's good. We'll start with basic exercises then I'll train you with the sword. I nodded. I stretched my body and did push ups. I used the treadmill and did some sit ups. By the time we were done, my muscles were sore.
