Taimur
After Eva left his office, Taimur called the Secretary of the State and informed him about Emma's kidnapping. The Secretary promised him every support that he needed. He even asked the Director of FBI to send his best men to take charge of the case.
" Where are we going to meet the FBI, guys?" Riyadh asked after Taimur ended the phone call.
"I don't think the hotel is the best place to meet them. If any housekeeping staff get a whiff of the kidnapping and the word goes out, all hell will break loose in Azmaayir," Taimur replied.
"what about your apartment?" Riyadh asked.
"Too risky, the paps know about it," Taimur said, lost in thoughts.
"Buying a new one would take time, should we rent one?" Riyadh asked again.
Taimur was considering the renting option, but it would take time and he didn't want to waste a single minute on anything else than searching for his daughter.
"We will have to go and crash at Eva's place," Taimur decided.
"Looks like the best option in the current situation," Riyadh agreed.
"Inform the Director to send his agents at Eva's apartment," Taimur said exhaustedly.
This day was turning into the worst days of his life. The hurt of giving up Eva was catching up with him and the reception that he had a daughter with her had hit him hard.
He has always wanted a daughter and he had one and had not known about her.
If only Eva would have trusted him with the truth, he would have given up everything for her and his daughter. Eva on the other hand had never loved him, instead, she despised him more than anyone else.
First her fiance and now her husband Mateo, there always had been someone between them. Though her fiance had been long dead when she met him, Taimur had not mattered to her then and he didn't matter to her now.
If only he would have seen her broken, Taimur, once. The truth was she hated him so much that she didn't even tell him about their daughter.
Taimur had been feeling heartbroken and helpless at her betrayal. That woman had played him like a fool and he had been foolish enough to love her for all these years.
Though he loved Alia, Eva had always held a special place in his heart. Eva on the other hand just had cared about completing her mission and leaving him.
Taimur and Riyadh went to their hotel room, changed and left for Eva's apartment. He had not recognized Mateo when he had opened the door because all his focus was on Eva.
The moment his eyes set on her he felt a wave of rage and hatred towards her. He wanted to hurt her the way he was hurting from her betrayal.
Eva and her husband had left the living room, just now. He was sitting with his head in his hands. He couldn't believe he had met his daughter a few days back.
He had been an idiot, not to see the striking resemblance between him and Emma. She had his eyes and his hairs, most of her features were similar to him. Still, he couldn't figure out that she was his daughter.
How could he? He never knew he had a daughter before today. If he had known she existed, he would have known that it was her.
Eva had brought Emma's photo albums and her video DVDs. Taimur noticed his hands were shaking when he was turning the pages of the albums.
There she was in every photograph, his spitting image. His green eyes and black locks. He was tracing her features in each photograph trying to memorize them.
The agents asked Eva about what had happened at the grocery store, she was answering each of their questions trying to stop herself from crying.
Mateo was comforting her, he had his arm around her shoulders and she clung to his chest. Mateo would now and again rub her back trying to motivate her to speak.
Taimur couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy in his heart, seeing Eva so close to another man was eating him up.
He was mad at himself, for feeling like this, but he couldn't help.
Riyadh was watching every expression that passed his face. And he knew Riyadh would ask him later about it.
They said they will set up their equipment here in the living room if Mateo and Eva didn't mind. And of course, why would they not agree she was also her daughter.
Stryker excused himself saying he will get the CCTV footage from the grocery store and the streets around.
Taimur had warned them to keep his name under wraps as much as possible, he knew it would raise a storm back in Azmaayir if they found out he had a daughter outside wedlock.
He will have to tell them one day but now was not the time when his daughter's life was at stake.
