Taimur

"Who do you think has taken Emma?" Riyadh asked him as they returned to their hotel late at night.

"Frankly, I don't know, who could be having a vendetta against me, that they have gone to the extent to kidnap my daughter" Taimur replied.

He had been thinking about this since the kidnapper had called him, he was not able to put a face to the voice.

"Are you sure they want some revenge, or are they trying to blackmail you?" Riyadh asked, immersed in thought.

"Bloody hell, I didn't think on this angle, shit. This could be Abi, he had threatened me when I left Azmaayir that consequences would not be good if I didn't agree for the coronation. And he fucking knew about Emma", Taimur cursed.

" You think he can stoop so low?" Riyadh asked, astonished.

"Trust me, he can go to any extent," Taimur replied.

He removed his cell from his pocket and dialed Sikander's number. Sikander received the call after a few rings.

"Where is my daughter?"Taimur spoke through clenched teeth, trying hard to suppress his anger.

" Congratulations, this is news to me. I am sure your mother will be delighted to hear that she has a granddaughter", Sikander replied to him.

"Don't play games with me, just tell me where my daughter is" Taimur snapped.

"I don't know, most probably with your whore", Sikander retorted.

" Don't fucking say that word", He cursed.

He was trying to stay calm, he knew Sikander was playing his usual self provoking Taimur and distracting him from the purpose.

"What else do you think people will call her when they know you have a daughter out of wedlock?" Sikander asked enraged.

"I don't know what imaginary world you live in, but let me assure you that girl is your illegitimate child and you can't change that fact", He added.

Taimur was silent for some time, he knew whatever Sikander was telling was correct.

"Just tell me where she is?" Taimur asked, taking a deep breath.

He was tired of these mind games and conspiracies.

"I don't know, just ask that whore, what she had done with your daughter? She might be able to answer this question better", Sikander was in a no-nonsense mood.

Taimur was just listening to him with his lips pressed tightly with each other.

" Abi, I am not in a mood to argue, so cut the crap and tell me did you kidnap my daughter?" Taimur said, trying to keep himself from yelling.

There was silence on the other side, and after a few moments, he heard Sikander's voice.

"Was she kidnapped?"

"I said no mind games, no fucking mind games", Taimur yelled in the phone.

"Believe me Taimur, her kidnapping has nothing to do with me", He heard Sikander say.

"Abi, I am losing control, so please tell the truth at least once in your Goddamn life", He was getting reckless, Sikander had been trying his patience.

" I don't have her", He said.

Taimur disconnected the call, he still didn't believe Sikander was telling the truth. Sikander had deceived him many times and Taimur thought this was no exception.

Riyadh was looking at him with sympathy in his eyes, he had known how Sikander had been meddling in his life.

Taimur called Haris and told him to find out if Sikander had any link with the kidnapping and to investigate if any of his enemies back Azmaayir had to do anything with it.

He laid in his bed for a few hours trying to sleep, but he couldn't. Emma's face kept on rotating in his mind.

If only he had known she was his daughter, the day they had met. He would have taken her with him and kept her safe from everyone.

He got up and left his bed and started pacing in his bedroom, after some time he left his room and went into the living room of the suite.

.

He saw Riyadh sitting on the sofa in the living room, he looked at Taimur and smiled lazily.

"I couldn't sleep," Taimur said as he sat on the couch opposite him.

"Me neither", Riyadh replied.

" I still can't believe this is happening, it feels like a dream", Taimur sighed.

Taimur was expecting this, he had a feeling the calls wouldn't lead to anything, but he had expected to find something from the CCTV footage.

But it seemed they had planned everything in advance, it was way bigger and organized than he had thought.

" The delivery truck did you run the number plate through the system", Taimur asked.

"The number plate is fake, the truck was stolen. We have traced the owner he had filed a missing complaint a day before", Stryker replied.

" So you mean we are at a dead end?" Taimur asked.

"I am afraid, but it seems so Your Highness", McGill replied.

" How could you say something like this? There must be something, some clue, " Eva said, she looked like she was about to break down again.

"I am sorry Mam, but right now we can just wait for the kidnappers to contact before we plan anything", McGill replied to Eva.

They sat watching at the footage, again and again, discussing every scenario.

McGill asked Taimur if he was suspecting anyone who could be behind this, Taimur's mind was going to Sikander again and again. Yet he didn't say anything to them, not till Haris was investigating.

McGill has asked Mateo and Riyadh to go on with their routine, he didn't want to raise any suspicion.

He had asked Eva and Taimur to stay at the apartment, in case the kidnapper contacted any of them.

Taimur noticed Mateo didn't look happy at McGill's suggestion, maybe he didn't want to leave Eva alone with Taimur.

He didn't need to worry, the agents were going to be with them.

Mateo unwillingly left for work, while he and Riyadh were discussing how they were going to cover Taimur's absence.

After an hour Riyadh left, Stryker and Diaz left along with him. They were going to their headquarters in New York, to report to their director.

Taimur just sat in the living room talking to McGill, Eva had brought breakfast and coffee for both of them.

She had left while they both had their breakfast, memories had come back crawling in his mind from the time Eva used to cook for him in his office and penthouse.

He finished his breakfast and laid on the couch, there was nothing much to do. Riyadh had told him he would call if there was anything urgent.

He was thinking about Emma as he drifted to sleep, the exhaustion had taken over him.
