The Judge looked up him, though he was trying to maintain a blank expression still Taimur had noticed the curiosity in his eyes when they scanned Taimur.

"Shall we proceed?", He asked.

Both the attorneys nodded in agreement, as Rachel stood from her seat and shuffled some papers on the desk in front of her. It was the first appearance for them in front of the judge to proceed further with the custodial petition they had signed.

"Ms. Jones, your client, Taimur Al Jahaan has requested the complete custody of his daughter, is that correct?" The Judge asked.

"Yes, your honor", Rachel replied.

"The reason your client has stated for the custodial rights are crucial, and the accusations he has on the other party are severe. Do you accept the charges you have laid on Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez?", He asked again.

" Yes, I fully acknowledge the charges laid against the party responsible by my client are not just accusations, they are the facts and I have evidence", Rachel replied.

"Mr. Reeves, the reasons sighted for the custody are vital, so I think we will have to go ahead with the proceedings. I hope your client understands the vitality of the situation and has a good enough defense", He addressed Damien.

" Yes, your honor, my client truly understands the nature of accusations laid on them by the petitioner to acquire the complete custody of their daughter. And I want to assure you, they have good enough reason to disagree with the accusations laid against them", Damien replied.

The Judge nodded on his reply, he scanned the papers in front of him for a while and then looked at the two attorneys.

"I am scheduling the next appearance date for next week, I hope both parties will agree to it", He stated.

The two attorneys just nodded in agreement, when the judge added.

" I am appointing a Law Guardian, for Emma Smith",

"Your honor, my client has a request", Rachel said looking at the Judge.

" Go ahead Ms. Jones", He looked at her inquisitively.

"As my Client, is the biological father of the child, and as stated he was being kept in the dark about the existence of his daughter, he wants the girl to be addressed as Emma Taimur Al Jahan and not as Emma Smith", Rachel said giving Taimur a glance, and he nodded in agreement.

The Judge scanned the faces of the people present in the room, then his eyes rested on Damien who was looking at Eva. Eva just nodded at him and then Damien looked at the Judge.

" My client has no objection to the request of the petitioner", Damien replied.

"Well, make the required changes in the paperwork and request for a name change of the child to the concerned government department", Judge looked at Rachel and gave a curt nod as he spoke.

" Thanks, your honor", Rachel replied.

The Judge dismissed them, and Taimur and Rachel were the ones to leave his office first. Rachel was looking, her calm and composed self and Taimur were glad that the first appearance went smoothly.

Damien asked Rachel for a private word after they left the courtroom. Taimur stood aside watching them, engrossed in a heated argument. Though their voice were low it was not hard to understand that they hated each other's guts from the expressions on their faces.

Rachel left a fuming Damien behind her and walked to Taimur. He couldn't help but wonder if they knew each other on a personal level.

"I am flying to Azmaayir tonight, I will be back for the next appearance", He informed Rachel.

" Need to take care of things back there before the media gets the whiff of the custodial petition", He added.

Rachel looked at him, he felt like she wanted to ask him something, he just gave her nod to acknowledge she can go ahead with her question.

"The leaks, have they something to do with this petition?", She asked him.

" Yes, I wanted the image of the council tarnished in the eyes of the Azmaayiris so when I tell them about having a daughter out of wedlock the people might feel sympathy for me and not the council", He replied, she was his attorney, and he knew because of the attorney-client privilege would never disclose this to anyone.

"That was a bold move, it could have gone either way", She said, by her expression, it was clear she looked impressed.

Taimur just chuckled at her reply, he really liked Rachel, and they were getting along well. Taimur was looking forward to a good friendship with her.

" Your ex, she still loves you", She said, giving a nod in direction of Eva, who had walked out of the office and now was standing with Mateo and Damien.

"She doesn't love me", He replied with a sigh.

Rachel halted and looked at him turning her head, Taimur saw that she wanted to say something but then she changed her mind and looked out of the glass wall of the building.

" I will do the paperwork for change of name of Emma and will file the application", Rachel said after some time.

"Can I ask you something?" Taimur couldn't help asking her.

Rachel nodded in approval and he went ahead," Do you and Damien, know each other in a personal level?" He asked.

" I will come in the evening, to meet Emma. I am leaving for Azmaayir and will be back for the next appearance", He added.

Eva just took a deep breath and didn't say anything, he was waiting for her reply.

"Okay, but make sure you are here when Mateo is at home", She replied finally.

Taimur's grip on the receiver tightened, he knew she was referring to their last meeting.

He shifted on his chair as he remembered the way her body molded in his, how soft her skin felt against his lips. He had wanted her as he had never wanted anyone before at that moment.

He had seen how his touch still affected her and the way she melted in his embrace, the sexual chemistry between them was undeniable, even after so many years.

" Then I won't get what I want", He retorted.

"Taimur", She said in contempt.

" Baby, I know you want me, you just need to come around", He said with a smirk.

"Don't you get tired?" She asked annoyed.

"Tired of what Señorita?" He asked amusingly.

"Of carrying your heavy ego", She retorted.

Taimur gave out a chuckle, feisty hmm. She only had gotten more beautiful and confident with age. He remembered how she used to blush and shy away after his teasing but know she always had a feisty response and he was loving this side of her.

" I have practice, babes", He replied chuckling.

"Arrogance", She snapped.

" I will see you in two hours", He said as he disconnected.

Riyadh was looking at him with resentment, he didn't say anything and just left his office.

Taimur felt a little guilty at what he was doing, and then his arrogance got the better of him.
