Alia
She woke up to an empty bed in the middle of the night, she looked around in the room, Taimur was nowhere in the room. She got up and slid out of the bed and walked out of their bedroom, she walked through the corridor to the lounge, but it was dark and empty.
She noticed the door to the terrace was open, she walked out on the terrace, Taimur was sitting on the swing and engulfed in deep thoughts. She walked up to him silently, Taimur noticed her when she sat beside him on the swing.
"You okay?" She asked him, taking his hand in her.
" I am good", He replied.
Alia sensed something was bothering him but he didn't want to share it with her. He had changed a lot in the last two months. He had become distant and he was hiding things from her, he was even lying to her.
She never had imagined something like this could happen between them, it just took one woman to come back in his life and Alia had lost him. She felt like he never belonged to her, he said he loved her but she felt like he didn't mean it.
"I am going back to the US in the morning", He said.
Alia looked at him he was looking into the night sky, his gaze fixed on some unknown point in the sky.
" You were never back, your mind and heart are still in the US. It's just your body that came back to Azmaayir", She said sighing.
"Alia, it's not what you are thinking", He said in a worried tone.
" It's okay Tim, I know you love her, you have always loved her", She said interrupting him.
"It's not your fault, I know we can't control it like I can't control it. No matter what you do, I will still keep loving you. It doesn't even matter if you don't love me back, because I have loved you with all my heart and I will keep loving you", She said, a lump was forming in her throat and she was barely controlling herself from breaking down.
She didn't want him to see how broken she was from inside, and how hurt she was because of him. How selfish he had been acting lately and what pain he had given her.
She wanted to run away somewhere and never return, but she knew he will hunt her to the depths of the oceans until he found her, he was Taimur Al Jahaan and he would never let her go. He won't part from the things that were his, it didn't matter if he didn't love her anymore. He would still keep her because she belonged to him, he had claimed her and he would never allow any other man even to touch her.
" Alia, I will take care of everything, I will make everything right like it was before", He said holding her hand in his.
"Do you think these words matter anymore to me? Do you think I can't see that you don't mean what you say? Do you think I will believe that everything will be going back to as it was between us?" She asked him.
Taimur didn't reply, he just kept looking at her and she knew she had lost him, her whole married life was a fucking lie, he had never loved her, at least not in the way she had loved him. For him, she was just a woman he had married and had kids with. The only importance of her was that she was bound to him in matrimony and was the mother of his heirs and nothing more.
"You don't need to say it for me to understand, I know you very well, more than you know yourself, and I know one thing Taimur, that you don't love me, not in the way you have loved Eva, and not in the way, you still love Eva", She said, pulling her hand from his.
"Alia"
"Please don't Alia me today, Tim. I don't think I can take it anymore", She said, with tears bursting out of her eyes.
She didn't want to cry in front of him, she didn't want him to know, how much she was hurting from inside. But her traitor eyes have betrayed her, they have shown him what pain she was going through.
" Go to her Tim, she loves you and you love her. She will come around, I know she will", Alia said as she stood from the swing.
Taimur held her arm with his hand, which she politely removed and looked at him for the last time.
"I don't know why, Tim, but I think I won't see you again", She said caressing his face with her hand.
One last time, that is what she told herself, one last time and then she leaned and kissed him. She pulled away before Taimur could pull her to him and then she walked back inside.
She had lost him, she had lost him the day Eva Smith had walked back into his life with his daughter. And she didn't know what she was going to do now without him.
If only she was lucky enough to get a cardiac arrest so she won't have to bear, to see Taimur with any other woman.
