Manuela’s POV
When Flavian told me he had to go to the police station, I was almost certain he was lying. But when he insisted that I should stay at Patrick's house and his urgency in refusing to let Melissa take me home, it gave me the certainty that something was wrong. To confirm my suspicions, Melissa talked to Detective Bonfim who assured that Flavian didn't need to be at the police station.
Melissa suggested pressuring the guys to make them tell us what was going on. I was already at my limit with this whole situation and agreed that would be the best course of action.
"How should we do this, should we start with the weak link in the little group?" Melissa asked, looking directly at Patrick.
"No, I think it's better to get them all together and pressure them. They'll get confused and won't have time to organize themselves and make up an excuse," Catherine suggested.
"Good idea, Cat," Melissa agreed and wasted no time. She called the guys with the sweetest voice in the world. "Gentlemen, come here and pamper your women a little."
They came smiling, all happy, each sitting next to their wife or girlfriend, and Rick sat next to me.
"What's going on, Little Key?" Rick whispered in my ear. "That sweet voice of Melissa's doesn't convince me."
"Are you my friend, Rick?" I asked loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Shit!" Rick growled. "I knew it, I warned..."
"What's going on, Manu?" Henry interrupted Rick.
"What's going on is that you're all lying to all of us!" Samantha confronted her husband. "And lying to my face, Henry, because I've already asked you about this."
Patrick scratched his head as the guys exchanged glances. They were sweating, unsure what to do. None of them wanted to betray their friend, but they all knew they were in hot water and there was no point trying to hide the truth anymore.
"Game's up! Time to tell her," Rick said to the others.
"I'd say it's way past time, Rick!" Melissa glared at him as if she was about to interrogate him - which she was.
"Alright, alright. We'll tell you!" Patrick gave in. "But first thing I want to say is that Flavian only kept quiet because he was afraid Manu would leave him, but he didn't do anything wrong."
"Oh, really, Patrick? Let me guess - there's a woman involved?" Virginia stood with her arms crossed.
"Yeah, there is... but it's not what you're thinking," Patrick replied.
"Just tell me what I need to know," I said, too tired to argue. "Where did Flavian go and who is he meeting?"
"Manu, he went to your apartment. Someone got into the apartment - we don't know how yet, not even Flavian does - but this person is there and demanded Flavian meet them," Rick said, choosing his words carefully.
"And this person is the same one who's been calling Flavian for ages, and the same one he goes to meet when he tells me he has to go back to the precinct," I concluded, and Rick nodded in agreement. "Who is she?"
