CHAPTER 16

GOLFING

LINDY'S POV

The following morning, as soon as I opened my eyes I stretched my arms out and moaned while hearing my spine making a sound. I moved my head to my phone and grabbed it.

Your dog texted me btw. -Harold

It was already eight in the morning. It's probably noon at London. Did he mean Button?

I have a hamster, remember? It's on my wallpaper. And BUtton doesn't text, Harold. -Lindy

I stood up from my bed and walked to the kitchen. As I headed there, I noticed someone at the living room and saw Avery lying down on the couch. She was still on her sparkly dress, heels and looked terribly terribly wasted. I walked up to her and stared at her for a second. She was really sleeping and snoring! I started moving her to and fro.

"Avery. Avery wake up. Mom and dad's gonna see you like this when they get home. You'll get grounded again." I muttered to her.

"Hummmm hmmm way..." she mumbled with her eyes closed.

"Don't mumble your words I don't understand you. Get up already."

I pulled her arms and as she sat down on the couch.

"Did you just get home?" I asked her.

Right, why am I still asking her questions when she can't even talk properly. Ugh, she smells liquor and vomit. God, she stinks like her attitude.

I helped her up and walk to her room and even I placed her on her bed, got a few of her clothes and changed her. At least, if I lie to my parents that she's sleeping in her room I won't get busted too. I sprayed a little perfume on her before leaving her. No matter how she hates me and how I'm mad at her, for bullying me, I'm still her older sister for three minutes and I still need to take good care of her.

I headed to the kitchen, grabbed my cup from the drawers and made myself a cup of hot choco with mallows on top. I sat on a chair and opened Harold's message talking about this dog.

Jake. He texted me last night talking about your sister getting so drunk in a party. Telling me to come pick her up. -Harold

Why in the world are you calling Jake a dog? -Lindy

Jake the dog from Adventure Time? He kind of remembers me that cartoon. -Harold

I snorted.

You are crazy. -Lindy

So, has your sister come home yet? He told me he'll let her friends take her home in a cab. He said something like her and Ted had a fight. -Harold

No wonder she's home so drunk. I wonder what they fought about this time. I'm sure it's about Ted's side-dishes. He's such a dick.

Yup. She's home. Thanks for your concern. And why didn't you text or call me that Jake texted me last night? -Lindy

You were sleeping babe. Didn't want to wake you up. -Harold

I got on Twitter for a sec.

@lindyswanepoel: happy birthday to my beautiful mom! I love you forever.

I scrolled down along my home page. There bunch of tweets about love quotes, did you knows, girly things, and yes I follow Guinness Book of records. I paused and stared on a tweet.

@harry_styles: happy birthday to your mother! I wish her all the luck in the world and more blessings to come.

He didn't tag someone on it though. Why am I thinking too much? As if my mother is the only mom having her birthday today. Wow, 36.2K retweets and 59.3K favorites in just two minutes. I barely get a retweet or a favorite. This guy is really famous.

I got off my twitter and finished my cup of choco.

Ttyl, I need to take a shower and start doing groceries before my folks gets here. -Lindy

Alright babe. I'm always a text or call away if you need anything :) -Harold

I walked up to my room and took a shower. After preparing myself, I went out to the mall and started doing groceries. Yes, I've been saving for my mom's birthday. Honestly, I wanted to make her a cake but then I don't know how. So I decided to make her favorite pasta dish. Well, after doing groceries I'll definitely buy a gift for her too.

Oh shit, I forgot to bring the ingredients that I need! Holy cow! I stood there holding an empty basket on my hand inside the grocery store.

Busy? :) -Lindy

Not really baby. Just playing golf. Why? -Harold

I really need your help. -Lindy

Sure. What can I do to help you? -Harold

HARRY'S POV

I waited for my turn to play golf so I just stand here while my caddy was waiting for me too. Suddenly I hear my phone ringing, Lindy started calling my phone and I answered her call.

"It's a miracle you called me first. What can I do for you?" I said to her.

"I need you to look over a recipe. I forgot to bring the list of ingredients I need to buy and I cant connect to their wifi around here. PLEASE." She muttered.

I pulled my phone away from my ear and stared at it. But there was no wifi connection here. I pulled my phone back to my ear.

"Okay. But I'll call you back. This will just be quick." I said to her.

"Okay."

I moved my head to my caddy.

"Excuse me, do you have wifi anywhere here?" I asked him.

"Well we do have sir. But it's inside the building. Our signal can't reach the fields. We're sorry."

"Does it have a password?"

"Yes sir."

"Can you write it down for me?"

"Yes sir."

He hurriedly wrote it down with his pen and pad then handed it to me. I left him and walked back inside the lounge. I connected myself to their wifi and pulled my headphones out. I hurriedly got on google and dialed her number.

"Hello?" she answered.

"So, what's the recipe?"

"Oh thank god! It's Rigatoni with Marinara Sauce and Ricotta."

"Ri... ga... to.... ni.... Will you say it slower? I didn't quite get it."

I will! :D -Lindy

It's finally tomorrow. I am finally seeing her tomorrow and it's all making me nervous just thinking about it.

LINDY'S POV

When I finished doing the groceries, I hurriedly bought a gift for my mom. Well, I just bought her this lovely dress I found which was on sale. As soon as I was done, I grabbed a drink from Starbucks and walked my way home.

I grabbed all the things I need and started chopping the ingredients as what the instructions were saying. I started cooking the garlic and red-pepper flakes in oil in a 4-quart heavy pot. I added the tomato juice and then salt then simmered it until the salt is thickened then I added basil and stirred it again.

I cooked the pasta, drained them, then I tossed the pasta with the warm marinara sauce in a large bowl serves with ricotta and grated Pecorino Romano. It smelled good and it looks well served.

I glanced at my watch and it was almost lunch. Suddenly, I see Avery standing along the doorway staring back at me.

"Oh hi twin." I said to her while cleaning the mess I made.

"What the fuck are you doing?"

She walked towards me and grabbed a glass of water from the fridge.

"Well the fuck I am doing is making mom's favorite pasta dish cos it's her birthday today." I said.

I figured she forget about it.

She paused.

I knew it. She forgot.

"Was it today?!" she exclaimed.

I nodded.

"You didn't remind me?! Fuck you! I know you wanted all mom's attention today!" she yelled at me.

"We're home!!"

It was obviously dad yelling that out. They headed to the kitchen and stared at us, smiling.

"We're home girls." Mom sounded happy.

"Happy birthday mom!!" I exclaimed.

I ran up to her and gave her a hug then my dad as Avery walked up to us and hugged them too.

"Did you went out again Avery? You smell liquor!" Dad exclaimed.

Avery glanced at me.

"No dad. She helped me in making mom's favorite pasta. So I think I think it's the smell of the spices." I lied, for her.

"Oh you girls made it? I am so delighted. Let's all eat. I'm famished and I am so excited to eat it."

All of headed to the dining table while I was holding the large bowl of food. Avery started setting the table and I grabbed a pitcher of juice.

Lunch went well, Avery had to do the dishes with her hang over which makes me sort of happy seeing her suffer a little bit. As for me, I gave my mom the dress I bought for her and she loved it. I kept texting Harold the whole time. He kept saying today was his free day so I had him all to myself. He said he was coming back to America tomorrow and he's staying in Canada for a day.

I am excited.
