Chapter 162

The restroom door was pushed open, and Caleb entered. As soon as he stepped inside, he saw Willow leaning against the wall with her hand on her belly. There was something sacred and saint like about the look on her facehis mother was also like that when she looked at him.

He went crazy. Are you pregnant? How can you be carrying Julian’s child? Didn’t you guys fucking end things? How could he have knocked you up?

This was his first time having feelings for a woman and wanting to marry her. Willow and Julian had finally severed ties, yet here she was, pregnant with his child.

He was so furious that he wanted to storm off. In fact, that was what he did. He stomped out of the restroom, slamming the door shut behind him.

Then, he returned a few seconds later after having talked sense into himself. He crouched beside Willow and carefully felt her belly. Then, he looked up at her.

He was secretly pleased when she didn’t stop him. She had to have feelings for himwhy else would she let him touch her belly?

Caleb said gruffly, Have the baby, and I’ll raise him! He’ll take my surname and call me his father. That jerk’s genes shouldn’t be too bad, so this brat can take over my family’s business when he grows up. He won’t have to worry about going hungry, at least.

Willow’s face was still wet with tears, but she laughed at Caleb’s words. She reached out to rub his head. I can raise the baby myself, silly.

He was only three years younger than her, but to her, he was still like a child. She was only 27 years old, yet she’d been through too mh in life.

Caleb said stubbornly, I don’t care about that! I’ll save half my salary to raise the child!

Willow had nothing to say in response. She was still a little uncomfortable, so she asked Caleb to help her to the corridor so she could get some fresh air.

It was quiet in the night as they walked along the corridor. Caleb looked at her in concern. Do you need to go to the hospital? What if the baby was smothered earlier? Does it need to get oxygen?

Willow smiled faintly. You know a lot, don’t you? I’m fine, really. Women are generally weaker in their first trimester.

After a while, he asked hesitantly, Are you sure you’re not going to tell him?

He was worried he wouldn’t be able to be the baby’s father!

She shook her head. As she was about to speak, hurried footsteps rang out in the distance.

It turned out Julian had returned to his and Alicia’s box to find her having an asthma attack. He’d hurriedly hoisted her into his arms before rushing her back to the hospital.

He was practically running as she curled up weakly in his arms, her face as white as a sheet as she mumbled something. He comforted her in a low voice, saying, You’ll be fine, Alicia. Don’t be scaredyou’ll be fine once we get to the hospital. I’m here, okay?

He brushed past Willow. He’d seen her and noticed how pale she looked, but he didn’t have the time to stop. It didn’t even occur to him that she could be pregnant.

And so, they brushed past each other and missed out on each other in that empty corridor, thanks to Julian repeatedly letting Willow down.

An ambulance was already waiting outside the theater. It was there to pick Alicia up.

Julian carried her in. He only had time to look back at the theater’s second floor after handing her over to a doctor. He could

vaguely see Willow’s figure from where he stood.

She seemed unwell, but he didn’t have the chance to ponder the matter as the ambulance sped off. Willow’s figure became smaller until it disappeared from his line of sight.

Caleb and Willow stood beside the window. He asked softly, Are you going to regret not telling him?
