Suddenly, Rosalind gave Chester a call. “Where are you, Chester? I heard from Meg that your software will be on the market today. I’d like to witness that moment.” 

“You don’t have to come over.” 

“I’ve already ordered a cake. Are you in the basement? I’m at the entrance.” 

“Why call me if you’re already here?” 

“I didn’t want to bother you.” 

Since she was already here, it would be pretentious if he further rejected her. “Come on in, then.” 

Holding a huge two–tier cake and a gift basket, Rosalind headed inside alone. She didn’t bring Megan along

‘Chester, can I take a look?” 

“Joshua, let Ms. Fairchild have a look.”

“That’s too formal. Just call me Rosie.” 

Just then, someone called out to Chester, “Mr. Whitmore.” 

“Coming,” he replied, heading off to be busy with work. 

Joshua approached her with a smile. “Want to take a look at the software?” 

“I’d like to.” 

“Alright, I’ll show you the beta version.” 

Joshua introduced everything in great detail, explaining the inspirations behind various designs to Rosalind. 

“Did 

you come up with all these?” she asked. 

“Nope. Most of it was Mr. Whitmore’s ideas. I’m in charge of maintenance and some logistics.” 

“So he came up with these all by himself?” 

“Yes.” 

“Wasn’t Whitmore Group in the trading business if I remember correctly?”

“Yes, but Mr. Whitmore has always preferred software development as it’s his area of expertise. Before this, he had no choice as his family wanted him to inherit the company.” 

Rosalind tried out the software and was stunned. “It usually takes a large group of people working overtime to develop software like this. He did this all by himself? Is he the designer too?” 

“Yeah, don’t look so surprised.”
