Chester cast a quick glance at Angelina before his eyes fell on the white cat by the door. At that moment, he fully grasped her intention. “Are you planning to keep it?” 

“Yes, I want to give it a try. Let’s…” 

“Absolutely not.” They couldn’t keep a cat as Catherine was at home. 

During her pregnancy, Chester repeatedly warned Angelina to avoid touching Blanco while feeding it as he feared toxoplasmosis could harm Catherine. She had promised to only feed the cat and not touch it. Now that she had given birth, she suggested this idea to him. 

Angelina’s eyes dimmed with disappointment when he rejected her, leaving Chester stunned.” Well, you can keep it if you want.” 

He added, “In a cage, in my basement.” 

“What if I miss it during my recovery period?” 

Throughout Angelina’s hospital stay, her thoughts were consumed not only by her need for sleep and her painful wound but also by her concern for Blanco’s hunger. Despite the numerous stalls lining the entrance of their apartment, the vendors would chase away stray cats. She had even seen them kick Blanco away. 

Chester gave in. “Then keep it at home in a cage and don’t let it out.”

“So, we’re going to give Blanco a home tonight?” 

Chester glanced at the white cat at the door. Unlike most stray cats who were scared of people, Blanco stood there calmly, seemingly listening to their conversation. 

Once they were done, Blanco lay down and showed its belly, as if inviting them to pet it. At first glance, it didn’t seem like a typical stray cat 

“It’s late now. Probably tomorrow.” 

“Meow… “Blanco quickly stood up, meowing at Chester before strolling over to nuzzle against his legs. Chester frowned and swiftly stepped aside. 

He was wearing black sports shorts for the summer, exposing his well–defined calves and ankles, highlighting his impressive physique. 

Angelina gazed at him pitifully. “Chester, let’s bring Blanco in right away and set up a home for it. We need to do it eventually, so why not do it now?” 

“Angelina.” 

“It’s decided, then.” She turned to the door and called out, “Blanco, come in.

Blanco immediately went into the house. “Blanco, follow me to the balcony.” 

Blanco closely trailed behind her, curiously glancing around at its surroundings. 

Chester was speechless. Even so, he shut the door and reluctantly made his way to the kitchen. to prepare chicken breast for Blanco. He also ordered some cat litter online. When it arrived, he temporarily placed it in a wash–tub for the night..
