Chapter 120
Johnny only responded with an “oh” and didn’t say anything further. He stepped forward to discuss the content with Maggie, pointing at the details in his notebook.
Maggie looked at it for a moment, nodded to acknowledge, and then turned back to continue her work.
Seeing this, Julia asked, “Which part of the content has issues? Would you mind sharing with me?”
Johnny coldly replied, “Miss Brown, I’m working right now. It’s not convenient.”
Just as Julia was about to speak, Maggie walked over to Johnny and said some data.
At the moment Maggie walked over, Julia’s eyes turned cold.
Maggie didn’t plan to give her any attention, but upon seeing Julia glaring at her, after speaking to Johnny, she gave Julia a cold look before continuing to work on the data with Johnny.
Julia had another set of data to process, so she returned to the meeting room to sit.
Rex and the others were discussing some contract details. Upon seeing her come in, they asked, “Was there some tension earlier?”
Rex and Yves didn’t know exactly what Julia and Johnny had discussed.
From their perspective, it seemed like they were having a pleasant conversation.
Maggie suddenly came over and pulled Johnny away. Before leaving, she shot a hostile glance at Julia.
Her expression seemed to imply that she thought Julia was trying to seduce Johnny just by talking to him.
Julia didn’t take her gaze off the computer, and coolly replied, “No. I was just asking Mr. Gray for some professional advice.”
Upon hearing this, Rex and the others remembered that both Johnny and Julia studied the same field.
Johnny was a student of Nolan.
His abilities were, of course, unquestionable.
Julia was diligent and eager to learn, and it made sense that she would seek advice from Johnny on professional issues.
But Maggie, with her narrow mind, mistook Julia’s initiative for flirting with Johnny. That’s why she hurriedly pulled him away and shot Julia a warning glare.
He asked, “Do you know that woman?”
When Julia heard him mention Maggie, her hand on the keyboard tightened slightly.
Maggie was indeed beautiful.

Chapter 120
When Rex asked, she instinctively thought that he might be interested in Maggie.
But remembering what she had overheard at the auction and Rex’s attitude toward her, she quickly realized she was mistaken
She answered coldly, “Not really, why?”
Rex glanced over at Maggie and Johnny and said, “It looks like she and Johnny are talking. She seems capable?”
Julia replied indifferently, “I’m not sure, but I heard she only has a bachelor’s degree.”
“Only a bachelor’s degree?”
“Yeah.”
No wonder.
Her education didn’t match Julia’s, and she wasn’t as charismatic either. It’s normal for her to worry about Johnny being taken away.
He could understand her concern about Johnny being taken away, but her hostile attitude toward Julia, constantly assuming that other women were trying to seduce her boyfriend, seemed really petty.
Thinking this, Rex went from indifference toward Maggie to a subtle dislike.
Johnny, now momentarily free, glanced through the glass window at Rex and Julia.
After observing for a while, he leaned over to Maggie and muttered, “Does Rex like Julia?”
Maggie, focused on a data problem, paused for a second and then realized who Rex was.
She responded casually, “I guess so.”
She really wasn’t concerned about this matter. After saying that, she turned to Johnny and urged him to continue working, asking him to stop gossiping.
After all, the sooner they finished, the sooner they could leave.
Johnny pursed his lips. “What a strange perspective.”

After commenting, he didn’t indulge in gossip anymore.
Rex, seeing Johnny glance their way, assumed that Johnny was looking at Julia.
He also assumed that Maggie was annoyed because Johnny kept staring at Julia, which is why she quickly pulled him away.
Julia ran into some issues and stopped for a while.
She wanted to ask Johnny for help, but when she looked over, she saw that both Johnny and the Wilson tech staff were listening attentively to Maggie.
From the way they were paying attention, it looked like Maggie was really impressive with her expertise.
Chapter 120
Thinking this, she withdrew her gaze.
Maggie and Johnny were busy until around 5 PM, and the work was almost finished.
The contract with Wilson Tech was also finalized.
Mr. Kim invited Maggie, Johnny, and the others into the conference room to relax and have some water.
When he saw that Rex and his team were done with their work, he asked, “It’s getting late. How about we grab dinner together?”
Rex felt a stir in his heart and looked at Julia.
Julia, seemingly unaware of his gaze, said, “Sorry, Frank will be picking me up from Wilson Group soon. We have other plans, so I won’t join you. Enjoy your meal.”
Hearing that Julia wasn’t going, Rex instantly felt that the dinner invitation wasn’t worth going to and said, “I have other things to do. Next time.”
Julia’s refusal didn’t surprise Rex, but she didn’t show any expression either.
Johnny looked at Rex and felt more and more that Rex was interested in Julia.
He also realized that Rex only didn’t want to go because Julia wasn’t attending.
Seeing that both Rex and Julia weren’t going, Mr. Kim felt a bit awkward and asked Johnny, “Mr. Gray, what about you?”
Johnny raised his teacup and clinked it with Maggie’s, smiling, “We’re free, right, Mag?”
Maggie, understanding that he was teasing Rex, nodded, “Mm.”
Julia noticed that Johnny was really good to Maggie.
She furrowed her brows.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
