Chapter 163
Julia, who was dining next to him, asked, “Is there something with the company?”
Franklin placed his phone back in his pocket and said, “No, it was a call from the auction house.”
Julia smiled and was about to speak when Isabella interrupted, “What’s an auction house?”
Franklin, slicing a piece of meat, replied, “It’s a place where you auction off items.”
“Auction off items? What kind of items? Is it fun?”
Julia laughed, “It can be pretty interesting. Haven’t you been there, Isabella?”
Franklin shook her head, “No.”
She asked again, “Do they have a lot of treasures there?”
“Yes,” Franklin replied.
“I want to see what that auction house looks like!” Isabella said eagerly.
Julia laughed, “But the items there might not be to your liking.”
“Oh…”
Hearing that, Isabella immediately lost interest.
Franklin said, “You can still come and have a look. You can help raise the bid cards.”
“Raise the bid cards?”
“Yes.”
Franklin put down his knife and fork, picked up her tablet, and began explaining how auctions worked.
Isabella listened for a while, and once she understood that raising a bid card was fun, she got excited. “I want to try! Dad, take me to play, okay?”
“Alright, next time I have time, I’ll take you. You can buy all the things you like.”

“Okay!”
Julia smiled and didn’t intervene further.
The next day.
Rex arrived at Wilson Tech early.
When he got there, both Julia and Franklin were already present.
Seeing Julia, Rex hesitated for a moment. “Miss Brown, you’re here too?”
“I’m still handling the project I led before. I’ll continue taking care of it,” Julia explained.
Rex smiled, “I see.”
He had thought that after the new project at Wilson Group was handed over to her family, she would have returned to help her family.
Franklin said, “Mr. Hardin, please have a seat.”
Rex looked at Franklin, and the scene of him holding Maggie in the restaurant flashed in his mind. He paused for a moment before sitting down.
For now, he set aside personal matters and began discussing work with Franklin.
After a while, Julia
left to handle other matters, but over an hour later, she returned to rest and have
coffee prepared by Franklin’s secretary.
Franklin was still talking to Rex when he received a phone call.
He excused himself, went to answer the call, and left the room.
Watching his back as he left, Rex couldn’t help but remember the image of Franklin holding Maggie…
“Mr. Hardin, is there something you wanted to say to me?”
Rex’s hesitation was quite obvious.
He shook his head, “I just think that Mr. Wilson treats you very well.”
That scene still confused him, and it didn’t seem right to bring it up directly.

After thinking it over, he decided it was better to keep quiet.
Besides, whether it was Franklin picking up the abandoned projects at Wilson Tech to help her develop professionally, or him diligently introducing connections for her family, or even opening a new project for her at Wilson Group….
Franklin’s kindness to her was immeasurable.
Rex could see it all.
He felt that if it were him, he wouldn’t be able to treat her as well as that.
There was no doubt about Franklin’s feelings for her.
So, that scene was probably just a misunderstanding.
On Friday morning, shortly after Maggie got out of bed, a phone call came from her grandmother, asking her to accompany her to the art exhibition of Master Hall on Sunday morning.
Maggie’s grandmother was a loyal fan of Master Hall, a famous painting master. The last time Master Hall held an exhibition was more than ten years ago. The opportunity was rare, and Maggie agreed, “Okay, I’ll
go with you on Sunday.”
Just after hanging up, another call came from Isabella. This was the first time Isabella called since she attended the school’s parent–child event on Monday. Maggie didn’t pick up the phone.
On Saturday afternoon, she went back to the Miller family for dinner. On Sunday morning, she left with her grandmother to head to the exhibition.
When they arrived at the venue, just as she was getting out of the car, she saw Johnny’s car pulling up as
well.
Maggie was a little surprised. “Senior?”
Johnny, equally surprised to see her and her grandmother, said, “Mag, Grandma Miller, you’re here too?”
“Yes.”
Grandmother Miller smiled and asked, “Is Mr. Gray interested in paintings as well?”
Johnny replied, “Not really. I’m here to deliver a gift for my family to Master Hall…”
Master Hall was a renowned master of painting, and the Hall family was well–established. Every time

Master Hall held an exhibition, familiar faces from the circle would attend to show their support, while others would try to gain favor with him.
It was said that every time Master Hall held an exhibition, not only the paintings sold, but also the congratulatory gifts received, exceeded ten figures.
The Hall family wasn’t short on money. Because of this, Master Hall had stopped holding exhibitions for more than a decade, frustrated by the overwhelming attention.
Johnny’s family didn’t need to gain favor with the Hall family. Since his father’s generation, the relationship had grown more distant, though the two old men remained good friends.
Now that Master Hall was holding an exhibition again after so many years, Johnny’s father wasn’t
terested in attending, so he had sent Johnny to deliver the gift on his behalf. He didn’t expect to run into Maggie and her grandmother.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
