Chapter 164
Back then, when Master Hall held an exhibition, the halls would be crowded. With the Hall family still thriving, and with Master Hall holding another exhibition after more than a decade, Johnny knew that the venue would be bustling with people.
This meant that people like Franklin, Julia, and even the Brown family might be here too.
Maggie was still young the last time Master Hall held an exhibition. Over the years, she knew that Master Hall rarely held exhibitions, and she hadn’t heard much news about him, so she didn’t know much about
these matters.
{
Seeing Johnny’s slightly worried expression, she couldn’t help but ask, “What’s wrong?”
Johnny smiled, “It’s nothing. Wait for me here. Let me park the car, and we’ll go in together.”
“Okay.”
After parking the car, Johnny, Maggie, and her grandmother entered the exhibition hall together.
As Johnny had expected, the large three–story exhibition hall was already packed with people. However, before they could enjoy the paintings or visit with the Hall family, they ran into people from the Brown family and the Green family.
Grandmother Brown, Grandmother Green, and others were all there. They were all smiling and chatting with people.
Seeing them, Grandmother Brown and Grandmother Green weren’t surprised. After all, they knew that Maggie’s grandmother loved Master Hall’s paintings. It was impossible for her not to come to the exhibition after such a long wait.
Maggie tightened her grip on her grandmother’s arm.
Grandmother Miller calmly patted her hand and said, “It’s fine.”
If they could guess she would come, how could she not guess that they would be here too?
Johnny said, “Grandma Miller, let me go inside and find Master Hall. You and Mag can come with me.”
His intention was to introduce them to Master Hall, giving Maggie the chance to speak with her idol.

However, Grandmother Miller shook her head and said, “Just being able to see so many of his paintings in one place is already an honor. I don’t want to cause him any trouble.”
Since Grandmother Miller had said this, Johnny had no choice but to give up. But with the Brown family and the Green family around, he felt uneasy about leaving them.
Maggie reassured him, “Go ahead, don’t worry about us.”
The Brown and Green families valued their reputations, and in such a situation, they would never do anything to embarrass them.
Johnny left first.
Maggie asked, “Grandma, which painting would you like to see first?”
Grandmother Miller smiled, “Let’s start with the ones nearby.”
Maggie said, “Okay.”
Just as they were about to move away, Rex and Yves arrived. They immediately saw Maggie.
Yves had a persistent interest in Maggie and wanted to approach her, but Rex instinctively furrowed his
brows.
Maggie ignored them and turned to leave.
Grandmother Miller asked, “Do you know those two young men?”
“Work–related.”
Grandmother Miller didn’t ask further.
At this moment, Logan and Janice arrived. When they saw Rex, they were about to greet him, but Rex spoke first, “Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown, you’re here too?”
“Yes.”
The
Logan was about to speak, but Grandmother Brown and Grandmother Green walked over and asked, “Logan, Janice, do you know these two young men?”
They had noticed that Maggie and Rex seemed familiar with each other.
Logan smiled, “This is Mr. Hardin, a friend of Julie and Frank.”

“I see.”
After a brief exchange of pleasantries with the Brown and Green families, Rex and Yves went inside to deliver the gift.
When they saw Johnny inside, they weren’t surprised. “Mr. Gray is here too?”
They were all here at the request of their elders, so they had adjusted their formalities.
Johnny curled his lips, “Mm.”
At this moment, Jimmy walked out, handing Johnny a cup of tea, and looked at Rex, “You guys are here?”
Mm.” Rex replied, “Where’s your grandfather?”
“He’s inside chatting with someone. He’ll probably be out later. You can sit down for now.”
Rex sat down, “Okay.”
Johnny, however, was still worried about Maggie and her grandmother, frequently checking the time.
Jimmy noticed and said, “Gray, in a hurry?”
Johnny replied, “… Not really. Just some things I need to take care of.”
He had already arrived, but it would be rude to leave before meeting Master Hall. However, his worry about Maggie outweighed this, so he said, “Sorry, Hall, I’ll step outside for a moment.”
Jimmy wasn’t bothered, “No problem.”
Johnny turned and left.
Rex watched his retreating figure, immediately guessing that Johnny was probably going to find Magge
Jimmy said, “My grandfather will probably be chatting for a while. Why don’t you two step outside for some fresh air?”
Rex recalled what Logan and the others had said earlier–that Julia and Franklin would also be attending.
He stood up and said, “Okay, when your grandfather is done, send me a message?”
“Sure.”

Rex and Yves left first.
As they stepped outside, Harry and Levi arrived.
Members of the Brown and Green families immediately went to greet them.
Harry shook hands with Logan.
Levi looked around, “Frank and Julia haven’t arrived yet?”
Before she could finish, she spotted Maggie.
“Damn!”
She couldn’t believe that she was here too.
Harry, not knowing what had happened, followed her gaze and saw Maggie.
His expression darkened slightly.
At that moment, Johnny happened to be walking toward Maggie and Old Mrs. Miller.
Harry turned back and said to Levi and Logan, “I’ll go over and greet them.”
He left immediately.
“Mr. Gray, Miss Miller.”
When Johnny and Maggie heard his voice, they turned around.
Johnny said, “Oh, it’s Mr. Becker.”
Hearing the name “Becker,” Old Mrs. Miller took a second look at Harry, remembering what Hugo and Jason had said.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
