Chapter 76
Grandma Wilson had intended to bring attention to it and have Franklin care for Maggie a bit more, but to Maggie, this was no longer necessary
She didn’t look at Franklin and, with a faint smile, spoke, “Grandma, the food will get cold soon. Let’s eat.”
Grandma Wilson, however, assumed that Maggie was avoiding the topic and didn’t want to continue discussing Franklin.
ter all, whenever Franklin ignored her, and Grandma Wilson would scold him on her behalf. Maggie would always defend
Grandma Wilson sighed helplessly. “You, always siding with him.”
Maggie just smiled without saying anything.
Franklin’s expression was still indifferent, and his face didn’t change after she spoke up for him.
It was getting late, so it was indeed time to eat.
Grandma Wilson stood up and took Isabella’s hand. “Isabella hasn’t had a meal with Grandma for a long time. How about siting with Grandma today?”
Isabella nodded obediently. “Okay.”
“Such a good girl Grandma Wilson said this while glancing at Franklin. The unspoken meaning was clear.
Maglie knew Grandma Wilson was trying to pair her with Franklin again.
She didn’t look at his reaction and followed Grandma Wilson into the dining
ing room.
As she sat across from Grandma Wilson and Isabella, she caught a glimpse of Franklin pulling out the chair next to her and sitting down beside her.
Grandma Wilson seemed pleased, and after the dishes were served, she said to Franklin, “Serve Mag some food.”
Maggie didn’t look at Franklin and said. “No need, Grandma, I can help myself-
Before she could finish speaking. Franklin had already picked up her favorite stir–fried pork and placed it in her bowl.
Maggie paused. “Thank you”
Franklin didn’t speak
Whenever Grandma Wilson asked Franklin to serve food, it wasn’t just for him to place one or two pieces on her plate.
He was expected to take care of her throughout the meal. So when Maggie’s dish was almost empty, Franklin would refill it, and the food he served was always what she liked.
Howeyer, this didn’t mean anything.

years, and with Franklin’s memory, even without trying to
After all, this kind of thing had happened a few times over the yer remember, he would naturally recall her preferences.
After the meal. Franklin stayed with Grandina Wilson to chat. Maggie sat quietly by, rarely speaking and hardly looking at
Seeing that they had been together for so many years but still didn’t seem to have much communication, Grandma Wilson sighed in frustration.
By around 9 pan. Grandma Wilson was tired and waved her hand, signaling for everyone to go upstairs and rest.
ggie bathed Isabella and blow dried her hair.
Isabella looked at her quietly as she was drying her hair, suddenly realizing that her mom seemed to be talking less recently.
Before, her mom always found lots of things to talk about with her.
Seeing Maggie’s thoughtful expression, Isabella asked, “What’s wrong, Mom?”
Maggie smiled and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Isabella shook her head, “Nothing.”
Maybe she was just overthinking it, or perhaps her mom had something on her mind and didn’t feel like talking.
After Maggie finished drying Isabella’s hair, she rolled around on the bed and asked. “Mom, will you sleep with me tonight?”
Maggie paused, “Do you want me to sleep with you?”
“I’m fine either way. But Mom, it seems like you haven’t spent much time with Dad lately. Don’t you want to go and sleep with
Dad?”
“I’ll go back in a bit.”
Her divorce certificate with Franklin hadn’t come through yet. If Grandma Wilson found out that she stayed in her daughter’s room without a reason, there would likely be more trouble.
After leaving Isabella’s room, Maggie returned to her own. The lights in the room were on, and Franklin was sitting at the des with his laptop, working on something.
When he saw her return, he glanced at her briefly.
Maggie avoided his gaze, heading straight for the walk–in closet to pick some clothes and then went to the bathroom for a
shower.
When she came out of the shower, Franklin was still typing away on the keyboard.
Maggie changed into her nightgown and sat on the edge of the bed. After doing her skincare routine, she saw that it was still early, so she leaned against the headboard and started reading a book
In the bedroom, the two of them quietly went about their own tasks without exchanging a word.

The readers' comments on the novel: Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time
Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
