"John?"

"Um yeah"

Morgan looked at me with concern in her eyes with a glimpse of fear.

"Are you alright? Maybe we should just go back to the room instead of the party," she suggested.

"No, no, I think we should go to the party. I think it would be good for us."

She nodded and intertwined our fingers. I curved the corners of my mouth trying to form somewhat of a smile and led us out.

"John!"

I turned to see Kalee speed walking toward Morgan and me.

"Yes."

"I was wondering if I could talk to you," she looked at Morgan and then back to me, "privately."

I looked at Morgan but she had her eyes stuck on Kalee.

"I guess I will go see if your mom needs any help with the party," She said walking out of the room giving us some privacy.

I watched her close the door leaving Kalee and I alone. I turned back to her seeing that she felt as awkward as I did.

"So....." I said walking over to the window watching the first snow fall making the forest look as if it was covered in white cotton with the shadows of the pack down stairs spread out over the ground.

Kalee chuckled, "You always knew what to say in awkward situations."

"Guess I did and I still do."

She laughed, "John, you should know when Charlie was in a certain state he showed me something. He wasn't the one who ambushed the pack a few weeks ago. He doesn't even remember that day to begin with."

"Well, he explained that when his wolf took over him that he blacked out," I explained.

"Yes, but what I see is different than what Charlie thinks he saw or remembered."

"Really?"

Kalee cleared her throat before she continued to explain, "In the limiting the witch goes into the subconscious part of the brain and briefly looks through their past to see what damage has been done. Charlie has a lot of damage but not from what I was expecting. Your father gave me a little background on Charlie but those things aren't the ones that you should be worried about."

"What should I be worried about?"

"Charile only seems to have anger issues from where I stand not an uncontrollable wolf. Sure, his wolf fought with him but it was natural."

"So what is the problem, Kalee?"

She looked frustrated, "The problem is that you all just assume that Charlie was uncontrollable; even Charlie thinks that."

"So you're saying that this was all a complete waste of time?"

"Jackie wants to know if you would like any food to take home with you," She asked turning to Kalee.

"Thank you but I will have to pass," She repiled.

"Please do," She pleaded, "If I tell Jackie you declined she will go ballistic."

Kalee laughed forgetting how my mother is when you decline her food. Let me put it this way if you decline my mother thinks that you dislike her food so she will basically tie you to a chair and force feed you.

"Oh, Morgan, I am not that bad," My mother said walking toward us with a plate covered with tinfoil.

Kalee sighed, "Really Jackie, I am fine."

My mother shook her head, "No. No. I baked and made all this food. Now, I choose who is going to eat it. There is chicken, poke, ham, and turkey with mashed potatoes, mixed greens, and desserts," My mother told her handing her the plate.

Kalee laughed, "Thank you."

"Thank you now hopefully my husband can sleep easier at night instead of having to worry about this unfortunate situation."

"Well, it is getting late Lucifer will be wondering where I am," Kalee said winking at me.

I laughed, "You were always a cat person."

She smiled at us and walked to her car. I lead Morgan back to the party while my mother made sure that Kalee left safely. The party takes up most of the main level of the house. In the living room is the gigantic Christmas tree that was handpicked by my mother. Of course, it was beautifully decorated with lights, ornaments, ribbons, tinsel, etc. The game room is where the gift giving/secret Santa for the younger children will be held. The dining room will also be decorated along with every other square inch of the pack house.
