"Will you be alright?"

"Yeah, go and play." He smiles a jogs over to Felix and Liam. I sigh as I watch him throw Josh in the air.

"I saw that kiss he gave you before." I turn to Ivy and blush a deep red. "You like him." I sigh and we both watch our mates.

"I do but- it's complicated. I want to trust him but I can't. My wolf isn't even pushing me because she knows we are going to end up getting hurt. I can't even hear he half the time." She places a hand on top of mine and give it a small squeeze.

"I can see that you love him Clare, he loves you. You might not be able to see it but he will do anything to keep you and Grace safe. Yesterday he looked about ready to murder someone just for you." She doesn't say anything else as she gets up and walks to where Grace and Liam are happily. I lean back in my chair closing my eyes enjoy the sun and thinking about what Ivy just said.

I try to contact my wolf for some guidance but like always she is never there. I open my eyes to see Conner watching me with a soft smile on his face. When our eyes meet I can feel the mate bond even at this distance. As Conner was watching me he didn't see Felix coming towards him until he landed on the floor with a thud. I couldn't help myself but burst into laughter as the shocked look on Conner's face. His shocked expression turned into an annoyed expression as I continued to laugh for the first time in years.

Conner

Her laugh was contagious as I looked up at Felix Shocked that he managed to get me down so easily. I was watching her across the lawn basking in the sun with such a serious expression on her beautiful face. I was too busy watching her that I didn't see Felix come at me until I was on the floor. The moment I hit the floor I hear her laugh but I am too shocked until I see Felix smirking at me.

"I guess." We both start walking inside and stop when we hear a high picked scream of anguish comes from inside. We both look at each other before sprinting inside and stop when we see Ivy and Liam at the base of the stairs with Clare who is screaming. I see tears in Ivy's and Liam's eyes as they step back letting us both through. What I see makes my heart stop. Clare is on my knees sobbing over a small body. I close my eyes unable to take any action as Flexi starts shouting orders around the place. When I open them I fall to my knees at the sight of Grace lying still at the bottom of the stair surrounded by blood.

I feel like I cannot move or breathe. We are all sitting, waiting for the pack doctor to arrive with information. I have been staring at the wall for hours, not one on us moving, afraid that everything will come tumbling down around us. I feel Conner put a hand on my leg and I only just realised that my whole body was shaking in fear that my little girl won't make it.

"She is going to be fine Clare." Conner whispers but I can hear the doubt in his voice. There was so much blood surrounding her. I promised myself that I would never let Grace bleed, but I failed her as a mother.

"Conner's right Clare, she is going to be fine." My eye sight focuses on Ivy who is holding a scared and frightened Liam in her arms. I look at Liam who is looking at me with tears running down his face. I know it wasn't his fault but there is some part of me that blames him for what happened.
