"Oh my beautiful angel." I feel myself sob as he washes my back so carefully as if I am made of glass. I then feel Conner start to wash my hair massaging my scalp with his strong delicate fingers. Once my hair is washed I turn around so I am facing him again.

"Thankyou." He smiles at me as he turns off the shower grabbing a big white fluffy towel and wrapping it around my small body. He grab another towel for himself as he dries off.

"Stay here and I will get you some cloths." Conner leaves and coms back dressed with my new cloths for the day. I go to grab them off him but he shakes his head.

"Let me Clare." I nod my head as Conner removes my underwear and bra and putting on my clean ones. The whole time he keeps his eyes on mine and they never stray. There isn't an ounce of lust in his eyes but love, so much love. I didn't know that the eyes could so that much love without bursting or bleeding.

Conner dresses me then sits me down on the bed while he runs a brush through my hair getting rid of all the knots.

"Why are you taking such good care of me?" Conner stops brushing my hair and turns me around to face him.

"I take care of you because I love you and you're my mate, my life. Without you Clare I would nothing you are my life, my light, without my world would be dark Clare." I nod my head because I have really nothing else to say to him.

"Thankyou. You are like my light Conner, my own personal sun beaming with light and joy." I place my hand on his cheek and lean forward kissing him.

"Thankyou." Our foreheads are resting together as we sit in a world of calm and collected silence.

"I am sorry you had to go through that." Conner says breaking the calm and collecting silence that we were sitting in.

"I don't remember much of it which I am glad for. I just remembering waking up in so much pain. He didn't even do anything for my face. It ended up getting infected because he wouldn't let me get it stitched up." Conner runs his finger along the scar with a sad look on his face.

"I wish I had found you sooner and I might have been able to stop him." I shake my head because I know if he did find me Derek would have killed him without any hesitation.

"I know, I just don't know how." Conner his arms wrapped around me and I know he too is scared about what my father is going to ask. I know putting it off will only make it worse but I don't want to face my father and the truth.

I knew I should have listened to him but I was too stubborn and blinded by a love I thought existed. Dad now knows what happened with Derek and I am scared that when I look at him all I will see is disgust.

"I am scared he will be ashamed and disgusted in me." I hear Conner sigh as I play with the hem of my shirt.

"Clare, he is your father. He will never be disgusted by you. He loves you Clare. Would you ever be disgusted or ashamed of Grace? Put yourself in his shoes. Imagine Grace was you, how do you think your father feels? He wasn't able to protect you, you wasn't able to keep you safe, and you had to suffer. Imagine that was Grace Clare. How would you feel?" I stiffen at the thought of Grace ever having to go through what I did.

Thinking about is makes me feel sick to my stomach, if Grace ever went through what I did I know that I wouldn't be able to cope.
