Chapter 107

Valerie acted purely on instinct. As soon as she realized what she had done, she immediately wanted to pull away.

But just as Valerie took a step back, Aiden closed in instantly. He leaned forward, effortlessly pinning her in the corner, prying open her lips and derving

Valerie was forced to till her head back, her hands involuntarily tightening around the bouquet she held. Her heart raced wildly.

As his touch deepened, Valerie once again felt that electrifying thrill, sending shivers through her entire body.

It felt as if her soul was soaring and clamoring for transcendence, her whole body tense and exhilarated.

Unlike any of their past intimate moments, this one reached deeper. It was a soul–soothing comfort.

Valerie seemed to really enjoy this feeling. It was unfamiliar, yet deeply comforting. She found herself irresistibly drawn in.

Time seemed to stretch endlessly before Aiden finally released Valerie. The man before her, his face so achingly familiar, etched deep into her soul, now seemed utterly transformed as if he were a stranger.

Valerie wondered, ‘What’s different about him? I–It seems like everything feels different!

Valerie’s cheeks burned crimson when, all of a sudden, her stomach let out an embarrassingly loud rumble. Embarrassed, Valerie pushed him away and murmured, “I–I’m hungry.”

A hint of amusement flickered in Aiden’s eyes. “Okay, let’s get out.”

Only then did Valerie realize the car had stopped at some point. Her cheeks flushed an even deeper crimson.

Did we really kiss for that long?‘ Valerie thought, still a bit dazed. ‘It’s as if we were completely lost in the moment.‘

As she stepped out of the car, Valerie glanced at the pristine seat. After a brief hesitation, she picked the bouquet up and carried it out with her.

Side by side, Aiden and Valerie stepped into the restaurant. A beaming server immediately approached them, greeting warmly, “Welcome, good evening.”

The manager, who had been speaking with another guest, immediately brightened when he saw Aiden. He hurried over and said, “Hi, Mr. Walker. We’ve reserved your usual spot. And this must be Mrs. Walker? She’s absolutely radiant.”

Flustered by the manager’s compliments, Valerie couldn’t help stealing a glance at Aiden.

Aiden remained as expressionless as ever, but the sharp–eyed manager, long accustomed to his cold demeanor, could still spot a hint of satisfaction on that otherwise indifferent face.

The manager’s smile widened. “Please, right this way.”

He ushered them into the private room. Valerie, still clutching the lavish bouquet in her arms, spotted two familiar figures from across the room. It was Arianna and her assistant, Coco, if she remembered right.

Valerie knew Arianna had always been difficult, petty, and quick to hold grudges over the smallest things. She had already braced herself. She knew that if she ever ran into Arianna again, it would be anything but pleasant.

‘Who would have thought I’d run into her here? Valerie thought.

Arianna, hiding behind oversized sunglasses, visibly froze for a moment when she spotted Aiden and Valerie. Even through those dark lenses, Valerie could feel the heat of Arianna’s furious glare burning right through her.”

The bouquet in Valerie’s arms was impossible to ignore. A sharp pang of jealousy stabbed through Arianna’s heart.

Chapter 107

Alden actually gave her flowers? Such a noble and aloof guy actually pave someone flowers? Arianna thought in disbelief.

What stoked Arianna’s Jealousy even more was that Valerie, wearing no makeup, still had delicate, especially those lips, plump and complimery clearly bearing the marks of recent passion.

‘What an eyesore. Arianna fumed inwardly.

But soon, Arianna slipped back into her starlet persona. With a haughty air, she sauntered over to Aiden, a smug smile playing on her lips. “Aiden, what a surprise running into you here. Quite a coincidence, right?”

Valerie nearly rolled her eyes, wonder

‘Coincidence? Bullshit. This is the Walker Group restaurant, the kind Aiden has been coming to for years.

Arianna had always made a habit of showing up here, even in her old life.

Aiden barely–glanced at her. “Do you need something?”

Arianna choked back her words, then forced a light laugh. “Oh, it’s nothing, really. But since we’ve run into each other, why don’t we grab dinner together? I just got here myself.”

Aiden looked at her coldly and said, “Are you sure you

Arianna was momentarily at a loss for words, clearly flustered. Forcing a smile, she stammered awkwardly, “I–It’s been ages since we last saw each other. Maybe we could have dinner together and catch up?”

“Two not–so–close people needn’t catch up,” Aiden said flatly. “As a celebrity, you should maintain proper boundaries with men in your private life. Otherwise, I can replace you as the brand ambassador next quarter.”

Arianna went rigid, shock flashing across her face. Ignoring her, Aiden wrapped an arm around Valerie and led her toward his private room.

Arianna stood frozen in the hallway, her fist clenched, her face darkened with fury and turning ashen with humiliation.

Aiden used to keep a polite distance, at least showing her some courtesy for the sake of their childhood ties. But now, he didn’t even bother to spare her dignity.

‘It’s all because of Valerie,‘ Arianna seethed inwardly. ‘What kind of witchcraft did that bitch use to brainwash Aiden?‘

Arianna clenched her jaw, barely restraining the urge to scream, then commanded curtly, “Let’s go.”

Coco hurried after Arianna, not daring to utter a single word. She Hadn’t been working for Arianna long, and she’d never seen anyone treat Arianna so coldly before.

Arianna wasn’t exactly A–list, but with her powerful connections, even top directors and producers treated her with deference. No one would ever dare humiliate her like this. Coco couldn’t help but cringe for Arianna.

Valerie couldn’t help feeling a smug satisfaction as she recalled Arianna’s expression just now.
