If she hadn’t been deceived by those rumors back then and had refused to marry no matter what, such a good thing would never have fallen into

Valerie’s hands.

The one being spoiled and cherished now should have been her. There wouldn’t be anything left for Valerie.

“Don’t worry.” Everett looked at Valerie’s back meaningfully. “I will make all your wishes come true. Anyone who stands in your way, I will help you

remove them.”

Valentina gave a sweet smile. “Thank you, Daddy!”

Valerie stepped out of the small room and nearly bumped into Kelly.

Kelly didn’t look well. Even when Valerie passed right in front of her, she didn’t seem to notice. Only when Valerie called out to her did she snap out of it She looked up.

Seeing Valerie, Kelly finally forced a smile and said, “Valerie.”

Valerie asked, “What’s wrong? You seem distracted. Are you in a bad mood?”

Kelly tried to smile but just couldn’t. She looked like she was about to cry. “I had a fight with Angelo…”

“Why?” Valerie asked.

“Because we wanted to eat different things. Then we started arguing…” Kelly looked distressed. “In the middle of it, I couldn’t help but mention that his feet stink, and he got so mad he just left…”

Valerie couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Kelly, however, looked truly upset. “What should I do? I didn’t mean to say it. I think he took it really hard.”

Valerie held back her laughter. “It’s just a small thing. Have you eaten yet?”

Kelly shook her head but looked anxious. “Next time, I swear I won’t say anything about his smelly feet again.”

Valerie laughed again and cleared her throat.

Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Aiden walking down the far end of the hallway, followed by Brody.

Thinking of how Everett’s family and Wesley all appeared today together, Valerie’s expression darkened slightly.

Wesley had always been a social climber. Now that he was getting close to Everett, they must have made some sort of deal.

Considering the long–standing feud between Brody and Aiden, if Brody was now looking for Aiden, it was surely with bad intentions.

Brody was always like this. Whenever there was something to mock or taunt Aiden with, he’d be the first to jump at the chance, unable to contain

himself.

Right now, he was probably trying to tell Aiden that Valerie was a fake.

The thought made Valerie’s heart tighten.

At this rate, her secret being exposed was only a matter of time. She had to come up with a plan to minimize the damage.

After comforting Kelly a little more, Valerie quietly followed in the direction of Aiden and Brody. They went to the backyard.

Chapter 126

The garden was large, and soon a servant brought over some coffee.

Aiden sat on the sofa, leaning back with his legs crossed, calmly and coldly watching Brady in front of him.

Seeing him like this made Brody angry. He sneered. “You really haven’t changed at all

Aiden slowly took out a cigarette, tilted his head to light it, and completely ignored the comment.

Brody was irritated. “Aren’t you curious why Everett’s whole family came with my parents

today?”

Aiden gave him an indifferent glance and slowly exhaled a puff of smoke. “You talk more than a woman”

Brody grew even more annoyed and sneered. “Look at you, all smug. Do you think we all just showed up on a whim? The daughter Everett brought today is called Valentina. Don’t you think she looks a lot like him?”

Aiden nodded. “They’re both equally ugly.”

Brody choked on his words.

Aiden looked at him with a half–smile. “All this roundabout talk, just to say that?”

Brody fumed. “Fine, I’ll just tell you straight. That Valentina is Everett’s real daughter. You think you married into the Clark family and fulfilled the marriage agreement? That was just a trick to fool you!”

Not far away, Valerie, who had been sneaking closer, felt her heart skip a beat. She instinctively swallowed and looked over at them.

Aiden lazily held his cigarette and stretched out, making himself more comfortable on the sofa. He asked, “And?”

His reaction was far beyond Brody’s expectations. Even Valerie was stunned and stared at him in disbelief.

Valerie wondered, ‘Does he really not care? Or… is this just his usual act of staying composed in front of others?‘

A flash of uncertainty crossed her mind, and she unconsciously clenched her fists.

Aiden took a slow drag of his cigarette. “Are you done?”
