Chapter 92
Chapter 92
Valerie’s heart clenched tightly. Without hesitation, she kicked open the door and shouted sharply, “Enough!”
The people inside the private room were known for their wild ways–spoiled brats who thrived on indulgence and excess.
But nothing prepared Valerie for the depraved spectacle unfolding as she pushed open that door.
Inside, men and women were tangled together, most half–naked or worse.
One woman was even riding astride a man, stark naked below the waist, lost in shameless abandon. It was utterly revolting.
Valerie recoiled in disgust, instinctively taking a step back.
But what shocked her even more was spotting someone familiar among the debauched crowd–Rowan.
Rowan, who used to be close friends with Juliette.
Rowan, the same person she’d once gotten arrested.
As all eyes in the room turned toward Valerie, several lit
up with undisguised interest.
She looked ethereal, dressed casually in a hoodie and jeans, but her fresh–faced beauty radiated purity and grace.
Rowan’s eyes widened in surprise. “It’s you?” he blurted out.
Almost immediately, realizing how compromising things looked, he threw a jacket over his friends‘ shameless acts on the sofa and hurriedly explained, “I just got here. I’m not involved in any of this.”
Rowan had admired Valerie from afar for a long time, but he knew all too well she existed in a different world than his.
She was too pure–so pure that Rowan secretly dreamed of sincerely pursuing her someday.
Though he hadn’t made a move yet, he couldn’t bear the thought of her misunderstanding him.
But Rowan’s feeble excuse only deepened Valerie’s disgust. She averted her eyes from him, locking onto Payton, standing nearby, visibly humiliated. “Come out,” she urged sharply.
Payton stood frozen in shock.
He didn’t even know who Valerie was.
Realizing Valerie had come specifically for Payton, someone in the room voiced annoyance. “Who the hell are you? Rowan, is she your friend?”
“She’s pretty cute though. Since she’s already here, why not join the fun?”
Fighting back nausea, Valerie quickly moved forward, grabbed Payton’s hand, and urged him firmly, “Let’s go.”
But Payton didn’t budge, hesitating, “Who are you…?”
He had something critical to do. He couldn’t leave.
He knew he’d lost all dignity here, but he still couldn’t afford to leave.
Someone next to Rowan sneered mockingly, “You’re meddling too much, girl. Too bad he’s not appreciating it. You know, he’s such a devoted son–such a gifted genius.”
Valerie’s expression hardened. “I heard everything just now. You need money, right? A hundred thousand dollars? I can lend it to you.”
Chapter 92
In her previous life, she’d heard Payton was completely alone, orphaned,
Now she overheard he had a mother urgently needing money for heart surgery
Putting the pieces together, Valerie could already guess the heartbreaking truth.
It was probably an issue about money, or perhaps a failed surgery, that ultimately led to his mother’s death.
If it was a medical failure, she couldn’t do anything about that.
But if it was a matter of lacking funds–then that was unbearably tragic.
The mere thought gripped Valerie’s heart painfully. She pulled harder on Payton’s hand, insisting again, “Let’s go.”
Payton hesitated briefly but followed her outside, as if compelled by some unseen force.
He didn’t know Valerie, but he was desperate to escape further humiliation.
He might have been poor, but Payton still possessed an unyielding pride.
Having endured days of torment, he was nearing his breaking point.
But they’d hardly gone far when footsteps rapidly approached from behind.
Payton spun around warily, only to find himself surrounded by several men.
The one who had forced him to drink earlier–Alessandro Maynard–stood out, tall, heavily built, his brutish face devoid of any innocence you’d expect from a college student, exuding a menacing air.
Smoking lazily, Alessandro eyed Valerie with sinister amusement. “You’re pretty bold, aren’t you? Barging in like that and trying to take away my toy?”
Smirking, he reached out, intending to touch Valerie’s face.
Valerie’s expression turned ice–cold instantly.
Payton quickly stepped between them, “Alessandro, she’s just a girl…”
Alessandro’s face twisted viciously. He grabbed Payton’s hair, slamming a brutal punch into his face. “Who the fuck do you think you are? Playing hero in front of me?”
Blood dripped from Payton’s mouth as stars exploded across his vision.
Tossing Payton aside like garbage, Alessandro moved menacingly toward Valerie, his voice dripping with lust, “Pretty girl, since you’re here, let’s have
some fun.”
Sickened, Valerie stepped back sharply, snapping, “Screw you. Get lost, or I’ll call the police.”
Alessandro laughed cruelly, “Watch your language, sweetheart. Besides, the police won’t help you here. Do you even know whose territory this is?”
Valerie kept retreating, her heart pounding furiously. “Whose territory? Are you saying this KTV belongs to you?”
She’d rushed in impulsively, never expecting these people would be so vile and dangerous.
