"Felt?", Levke wanted to know confused.

I looked at Oliver, hoping to reassure him further and saw jealousy in his eyes.

"Yes felt, I don't feel them anymore."

Oliver's eyes brightened and he looked satisfied at Levin.

"So what you want to tell us is that you made us believe you found a female mate, when you're actually found your real mate, who is male?", Lennart's harsh voice boomed in the now silent office.

My eyes widened. Had I misjudged the open mindedness of the Crescent Moon pack?

Levke instantly rushed to her mate's side in order to calm him, but Lennart was not finished yet.

"I don't know what is worse, that you used Sophia because you couldn't come to terms with your sexuality, causing her pain."

All eyes wandered to me and I instantly bowed my head, because as much as I wanted to deny it, Lennart was right. Levin had caused me pain.

"That you almost rejected your true mate, because you were too much of a coward to stand up for what you want", Lennart continued harshly, "or that you actually believe that your parents, the people who love you the most and just want you to be happy, would hate you for something that you have no choice over."

Levin looked ashamed to the ground not being able to say anything while Levke was staring lost into the distance.

Oliver was still beside Levin, but I could feel that he was conflicted. He was still angry and hurt by Levin that he had not accepted him from the very start.

My wolf whimpered in my mind, because she knew exactly why Levin had kept his preference in a partner a secret for so long and I had no idea where all this bravery was coming from, but before I could think about it I heard myself say, "I learned a long time ago that the first thing we need in our life is the love from our parents. It's a basic need that everyone has and it sounds so very easy, but it isn't. My parents had expectations of me as I'm sure you had and still have of Levin. I could never meet them and they displayed their disappointment and anger at me at every opportunity. Levin told me today that he wasn't supposed to be Alpha and I've no idea what the reasons are, but he told me how much he struggles with becoming an Alpha. But he tries again and again, because he wants to meet the expactations you set for him. Now imagine realizing that you're actually gay, which probably wouldn't be as much of a deal if you were just a normal ranked wolf, but your aren't, you're supposed to become an Alpha . Have you ever heard of a gay Alpha? I haven't and while I find it hard to believe that all Alphas are straight, it's another expactation that the werewolf society wants us to meet."

I could see understanding flickering in Levin's parents eyes and also noticed Oliver's anger at Levin vanish.

Confused my eyes found the blue eyes of Oliver who had seen my reaction.

"We're right outside, if you need us.", Oliver then said softly at Levin and made his way outside the office. I followed him knowing this was my clue to let Levin and his parents talk everything through.

Oliver led us up the stairs and explained on the way, "It was the first theory I established when I saw you together with Levin."

I felt his still lingering frustration and rushed to apologize, "I'm really sorry Oliver!"

He abruptly stopped and I almost crashed into him.

"You've nothing to be sorry for Sophia", Oliver answered in a soft voice and turned his head so that I was able to see his eyes, "In fact you just saved my life."

There was so much gratitude in his gaze that it caused my heart to beat faster. I, Sophia Coleman, the burden, the disppontment of the Mercy pack, had saved a life. It was the best feeling I had ever experienced and made me want to help more people. Helping and saving people this was my destiny, not harassing and killing them like the Mercy pack did.
