My wolf howled excitedly in my mind, joyfull too that finally our brother had returned to us.
"Silas!", I shouted as I practically sprinted towards his red truck.
He had already exited his car and leaned against it. When Silas saw me his eyes softened and he chuckled when he realized how fast I was coming at him.
My eyes did a qick run down of his body. His eyes seemed determined and I could not make out any injury so I readily jumped into his already open arms.
"I'm so glad you're here!", I whispered into his neck.
His arms tightened around me and he kissed my hair. "I missed you too, Ray."
I deeply inhaled his campfire scent and let myself relax. Silas, my protector, was finally here.
"Are you okay? Did everything go as planned?", I asked searching his eyes for any clue.
He just smiled at me and soothingly said, "It went even better than I'd hoped."
Curiously I looked at him, but I knew he would not explain further not when other people had already gathered behind us.
Gently Silas set me on my two feet again and quickly did an assessment on his own. His eyes searched my face and then my body for any visible injuries, but when he did not find any, Silas' dark blue eyes softened again and he smilingly told me, "Looking good, Ray."
I giggled at his compliment knowing he meant much more than my outer appearance.
Then his gaze was on the people behind me and Levin was the first to welcome Silas.
Silas hugged him and said, "Thanks for taking such good care of her!"
Levin winked at me and said, "Anytime."
Silas chuckled and questioningly looked at both of us. "So when is your mating ceremony."
I unconsciously winced, having forgotten that my brother did not know about anything that went down between Levin, Oliver and I.
Levin chuckled sheepishly and nervously rubbed the back of his head when he told Silas, "Erm...that's a really long story and I think we should go inside to..."
"What's he talking about Ray?", Silas' asked, his good mood had vanished and although his gaze was still locked on Levin, I could practically feel how close Silas was to shifting.
"Let's just go inside.", Oliver demanded and put a reassuring arm around Levin.
Tears started to form in my eyes, because nobody was more perfect for each other than my big brother and my best friend.
And then it dawned on me that that was how a real meeting between two mates had to look. I could feel the love and the happiness between those two, just as I was able to feel the same emotions between Levin and Oliver.
As if on cue, Levin stepped beside me and put an arm around my waist and whispered into my ear, "I think I never told you how sorry I am!"
I looked at Oliver wanting to make sure if he was okay with us standing and touching like this and his soft smile told me he was.
I leaned my head on Levin's shoulder and whispered back, "Thank you and I'm sorry too!"
"There's nothing to.."
Suddenly Silas' was standing right in front of us and he demanded to know, "What the fuck is going on here?"
He had an arm around Milena and I could tell that she was calming him down, but I also understood that my brother was on a mission and he would not stop until he found out the truth.
"Levin and I aren't mates, but Levin and Oliver are.", I told him and my brother's confused look locked with mine.
