"What happens now?", I wanted to know after they had explained everything to me. It was a lot to think about, but I knew I could only focus on everything they had told me when I knew Sophia was alright.

Levin locked eyes with the others and I could see how worried Silas had become and just knew that something was wrong with Sophia.

"Her mental wall is still up.", I guessed and tried to keep the anger out of my voice. Levin nodded his head confirming my theory. I slumped in my seat and covered my face with both my hands.

Fuck! What had I done? I could not already lose her! Not when she gave my life new meaning.

Suddenly Naja appeared beside me and I uncovered my face to see the sorrow in her eyes.

"You have to go with them Nate.", she told me, "Find out who you really are!"

I knew she was right, because I had never found my place here, but something inside me, maybe my wolf, just knew that my place was with them, with her. It felt like I would belong there.

It was in this night that I said goodbye to my parents, who had listened to the shortened version of my story and who supported me to "go find my way" as they had told me. I said goodbye to a crying Max, who I promised to keep in contact with and I said goodbye to Jeremy and Naja, who had whispered in my ear that no matter if we were related or not I would always be her big brother.

I was moved by all their support, their love for me and their tears and knew although my life here had always lacked something, that I had the most important things all along.

When I returned to my house close to midnight Silas was the only one who was awake.

"We need to talk.", he told me in a serious voice and pushed the kitchen chair opposite of his out for me to take.

I did not have it in my to be bothered by his order, too drained from all that had happened today and too consumed by my worry about Sophia.

She had been constantly on my mind this day and I desperately hoped that Silas or anyone of the others had been able to reach out to her.

However, when I noticed Silas grave expression I knew something was wrong.

"What's going on? Is she hurt?", I instantly wanted to know and pushed to my feet again. My heart accelerated and I knew that I could never forgive myself if something happened to her.

"Owen described her as more wolf than person.", he brokenly whispered and I rubbed my heart because it felt as if it wanted to break in two.

"What does this mean?", I desperately wanted to know, anger being removed by fear for my mate, although deep inside of me I knew what it meant.

Silas swallowed and with a hoarse voice he told me, "It means that we can't be sure if Sophia's going to come back or not."

A cry tore from my throat and an undiscribable rage rose inside of me. Instantly I started to shift and Silas did nothing to stop me. He knew I needed it right now.

So in my wolf form I stormed out of the house and let my wolf take control. He needed it more than I did right now.

All I could think about was that today was maybe the last time that I had seen my mate and a sorrowful howl escaped my throat.

My human self weeped inside my wolf, not coming to terms with what I had lost.
