"We know and as soon as her mental wall is down again we're going to tell her!", he assured me, but when he saw the confused look on my face, he sighed and continued, "It's best if we go inside and tell you everything from the beginning."
I was torn between giving her space, something my mate needed right now, and putting her out of her misery and therefore putting me out of it too. I observed the three man and one woman in front of me and knew that I could at least take my twin, the other man and the woman. However, I was not sure about her brother as he oozed confidence and strength.
"We came to tell you something important.", my twin interrupted my blood thirsty thoughts.
And finally I realized that all of them were here for me, to tell me something that would probably make me question my whole life.
"Are you sure she's okay?", I directed my question at her brother as he probably had the deepest connection to my mate. Only when he nodded his head did I slightly relax my posture and tried to convince myself and my enraged wolf that we first had to listen to the reason they had come for.
Almost robotically I turned around to enter my house again. It took me great effort but I managed not to shift right this second and run after my mate. The others followed, so did Naja and Max, but the woman, who had arrived with my twin, led them into the kitchen. Instinct to protect them took over and I hurried after them, before the blond man, her brother, stepped in my way and told me, "She's going to take care of them, don't worry!"
I could definitely worry, there were my family. Anger rose inside of me, because who was he to tell me what to worry about and what not.
"She's my mate.", he said with so much affection in his voice that my anger instantly vanished. She was precious to him I could feel it and he would give his life for her. My shoulders relaxed, because if he let his mate out of his sight to be with my family I did not need to worry.
I observed how close Levin and Oliver were, the other man in the trio, who seemed more quiet than even me, and wondered about their relationship, but I was too focused to finally find out more about my mate.
And finally they told me about Sophia, my mate. Just hearing her name for the first time had butterflies going on a rampage inside my stomach and I knew I was already whipped. However, I did not care in the least. When they told me about how they had found me and that Sophia was dead for a few minutes a rage so fierce overcame me that I almost shifted right in my living room. When I had finally calmed down enough I remembered the night on Jeremy's and Naja's porch. I told them about it and Silas, Sophia's brother, nodded his head in understanding.
There was just too much they knew about my past life, too much that added up and of course there were the dreams about Sophia and her turning out to be my mate for all of this to not be true.
